I really, really would avoid any antibiotics if possible. Many guys got fucked up in our Kos trip by fluoroquinolone antibiotics… though i think the biggest problem with any antibiotic at all is the resulting messed up gut flora. I would order a book by Natasha McCampbell called GAPS and look into Paleo/GAPS diet in general.
What your interesting anecdote tho means that you either have an inflammation or an infection IN or AROUND the prostate. I wouldn’t wait it out but I wouldn’t take antibiotics blindly either. Here’s my info on prostate & your choices:
- A lot of us did physical drainage therapies (about 10 guys) and 2 of us improved through it. Some of us were found with infection in the prostate as well. However, IF there is an infection in your prostate (causing the pain), it would be really hard to kill usually with just short courses of antibiotics (been there) so thats also why I dont really agree with people using messing around with antibiotics - imagine that it’s like trying to nuclear bomb a whole country to smithereens when the real problem is underground in a thick bunker or whatever.
Basically, if you want an infection out: your options are either get drained by someone (and there are barely any good urologists who can do that and despite Georgiadis being good, he uses antibiotics too liberally)… or do the drainage to yourself. There is one anecdote where the person succeeded doing this to himself with his…fingers, as brutal/ridicilous it sounds, or groan, use a dildo or whatever. Yes, its amazing that something like this would be suggested but you basically have an microbe in a place that is quite likely really closed of/have a poor blood circulation or possibly have calcified microbes or worse, biofilms… a long-term constant manual/physical treatment is really the only good choice here. You can always try it out.

There is also a possibility that it could be non-microbial inflammation around your prostate or that your bloodflow is interrupted for whatever reason (which is naturally something that would interrupt antibiotics effectiviness to a bacteria in prostate as it never properly reaches all the corners of prostate). I would advise to order a book called Healing Pelvic Pain by Amy Stein and try if following the program helps you.

There is also a pudental nerve - topic in Theories - section where a lot of guys we’re found with inflammation around the pudental nerve, causing it to press against the nerve. The reason why this happens is unknown but you can always study and search for things which may lower it (the inflammation) through one mechanism or another. There are many theories here re: that and most pragmatic approach would probably be trying all healthy lifestyle things (gym, paleo or raw diet or alternate between, organic foods, fasts, fixing leaky gut or x condition etc) and maybe something works out.
If you want to test/rule the pudental nerve - thing out: youd better read the topic in question and make sure you’d get the most accurate test possible (search, study, search). Right now, there is an doctor in France who at least can do that much but it would be nice if someone else eg in america could do it succesfully.
This would be btw the area where/why you would want to take anti-inflammatory supplements.
