long term usage side effects

No one’s wife has said anything on these forums that i can tell. I am a wife of a 20 yr Fin user. I was just NOW able to convince him to stop taking that poison. From a woman’s point of view, this drug should be pulled from the market when used for hair loss. My husband is only 46, started taking it somewhere after 23 yrs of age. I can’t believe not one Dr. out there thought this might be excessive. All told him it was not going to hurt him. Let me tell you, from MY point of view, I miss our intimate love life. His penis has shrunk, twisted, shortened, gone limp several times, and often he can’t even penetrate. His semen is thin, scant amt. and barely oozes out. This morning is the first morning w/o taking the drug and I am PRAYING he has no long term effects. Let me tell you, sex is not good this way. When he complained to one Dr of urinary complications (apparently another symptom) the Dr put him on FLOWMAX and that is when the peyronies hit almost immediatly. Also, NO semen. He stopped taking the flowmax immediatly but continued on the Fin. I am furious and will take legal action at the drop of a hat. Has anyone else’s wife, GF, noticed big changes and is left unsatisfied as a result?

I dont think fina has been here for 20 years. 10 is more like it

I have been on that shit for over 7 years, i feel like missed out on the best part of life my 20ths.

In hignsight it all becomes clear why my girlfriend left me, what problems i had and so on.

Been off 2 years+ but feel more like a man now than in the last decade.

thxs bye

He was on Propecia way back when in his 20’s. He would go thru hell to get a Dr to write a script saying it was for an enlarged prostate as insurances would not cover it for hair loss. He is 46 now. He used to have to go for several liver function tests. It was such a hassle all the time.

Fin was not approved for use as a hair loss treatment until 1997. It was discovered as a side effect.

So Popo, how long after you quit did you start to feel “more like a man now”? What exactly do you mean? Are you refering to your sexual function? Even after being off the crap for 2 days, he felt harder to me. He could get it in anyway and I knew it was there.

Its comes gradually(slowly) over the last 2 years, just like my symptons came slowly for me, to the point i thaught it was normal to have no
desire.

I look more like a man, more muscle les fat, doubled bodyhair, facial hair.
I mean feeling atracted to the other sex, the animal urge, all animal have to reproduce and like the process.

I hope that made any sence, hard to find the right words in another language.

Thanks for the clarification on fin, Popo. After talking to my husband more, he said he’d tried different hair loss products for 20 yrs but was on fin for 10 yrs. Thank you for bringing it to my attention that it’s onlybeen out there for 10 or so. I feel better now. I have been concerned about such extreme long term usage.

So far, he’s been off the stuff for 3 weeks and we are noticing subtle improvements, like his girth is coming back, no longer skinny at the base but full and recently seemed like more semen. We both have noticed this. It felt like there was more ‘power’ behind the ejaculation. I guess these are things you men also notice at first. Still no morning ‘wood’ but I am reading that takes quite awhile.

The really crazy part? He hasn’t lost any more hair than he normally does and actually has very good looking hair, just a little thinner on top but not bad at all. When I think how Fin was touted as the ‘hair loss cure’ so much so that my husband did not want to come off it until I found this forum and read it and got scared, I am angry that he was blinded by the hair loss claim.

I have read several comments in here about broccoli and other vaso dialators. Do you think you men will ever be fully restored to pre fin?

We all hope, but no one is sure. I think it may be possible with time.
