Can anybody please recommend a good London-based psychiatrists / psychologist who have experience with PFS patients?
I know many of you think they are useless. However, I want to give it a try for the following reasons:
- It cannot hurt
- At the very least, they may help with stress management / reduce my anxiety level / help me sleep better. Fin seems to have lowered my tolerance of stress quite a bit
- CBT is proven to change both the anatomy ad physiology of the brain. Even if Fin caused some sort of brain damage, CBT may help correct that: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuroplasticity. And yes, it is also possible that you yourself can damage your own brain. After all, all those who are in mental institutions were normal at some point, and drove themselves crazy somehow.
The short of it is, there is no downside, only upside.
Please recommend a good, sharp, intellectually curious and open-minded psychologist / psychiatrist that is willing to learn about the topic / has knowledge and experience already.
On a related note, has anybody tried meditation or even hypnosis as possible supplemental therapies?
It seems like there is no magic bullet, and I’m trying to assemble a cocktail of different treatment methods.
Constructive comments / thoughts are much appreciated.
Thanks,
