Living organ regenerated for first time: Thymus rebuilt in m

This gave me loads of hope:

Scientists have succeeded in regenerating a living organ for the first time. Researchers rebuilt the thymus – an organ in the body located next to the heart that produces important immune cells. The advance could pave the way for new therapies for people with damaged immune systems and genetic conditions that affect thymus development. The team reactivated a natural mechanism that shuts down with age to rejuvenate the thymus in very old mice. After treatment, the regenerated organ had a similar structure to that found in a young mouse.

Wow. This is incredible. Worth the read-through.

They achieved organ regeneration by manipulating one single transcription factor.
The procedure was performed on mice genetically engineered specifically for this experiment, but there should be some way to do the same with us run-of-the-mill humans without altering our genomes.

Of note, gene expression in the cells of the regenerated thymus was restored to a similar profile of what would be found in a young unmanipulated thymus.

If only curing PFS is this easy once a therapeutic target is identified.

Hi Dubya B
You name it!
I’ve not lost hope and I’m still going the natural route.
But since I’ve read this article it gives me hope in terms of regenerating damaged organs i.e. (adnenals / prostate…)
So if the ongoing studies find some route cause and with this information here it could be a breaktrough in some month or years.

At the moment I’ve felt lost because each doctor I’ve visited only pulled up his shoulders. Even in Europe.

I think this is one of the studies that really could be helpfull in our case and many more.
