In addition, lithium “decreas(es) norepinephrine release and increasing serotonin synthesis.” And i have read that too much noripinephrine can cause loss of libido, shaking (some of us have this), anxiety, etc. Another very interesting thing is that it may “reset” the brains master clock, so perhaps this would actually allow us to sleep correctly again.
My only issue is there hasn’t been any proof that I am aware that allo is suppressed after cessation of propecia.
Also we don’t have any reason to believe increasing it will help as far as I know.
Right. And the damage done by inhibiting allo could be permanent damage to the nerve. If you give yourself a cut, and then every time it scabs, you pick off the scab, over and over again, your going to have a scar, and the skin that was there isn’t ever going to be the same. This could be the issue with our nerves. We just don’t know.
Liquid and CD - you guys are both right - we don’t know if allo is still depleted, and if it’s regeneration will repair nerves - but reports such as “ithappens” (who used xyrem to up allo) seems to indicate at least positive strides in that direction. Also, if some of us are having side effects such as muscle twitching, this indicates some type of neuronal degeneration or death (which in turn could indicate that present state of lowered allopregnanelone - which is a protective neurosteroid)
Anyway, i’m not arguing - i’m just saying i don’t find a negative to trying to increase this - via ghb, lithium, or progesterone - especially after other hormones (dht, t) appear to be normal. Unfortunately the direct analogue of allo isnt available yet - so those are the choices that i have so far found.
I don’t know enough about ghb and it’s mechanisms, but if one of the ways it works is through increasing allo then sure, this is worth a shot.
I also don’t think muscle twitches are a sign of neuronal degeneration unless there is also associated muscle weakness, they sounds more like run of the mill fasciculations.
Regardless, if there’s anything I like it’s science, and studies, so good on you for posting some
