This is my first post. Just came across this site while searching for link between dutasteride and tinnitus. And I am so scared ---- terrified by what
I read here.
I have been taking dutasteride 0.5 mg for 3-4 years. Since the past couple of months, I have been experiencing tinnitus in my right ear and life is not the same now.
Is there any link between the two. I see that all discussions are about finasteride but not dutasteride ? !

A number of members of this forum have experienced tinnitus as a side effect from having taken finasteride. I also have tinnitus in both ears. Unfortunately, very little has been published on the subject that might be of relevance to us.
The only real strategy to combat tinnitus is to get used to it and ignore it. If you are still taking dutasteride, I would seriously consider VERY slowly quitting it (perhaps over a course of roughly 2 months). You are potentially doing unimaginable damage to your body. Why are you taking duta?
I have quitted dutasteride two weeks back. It helped to regrow hair.
That time, I did not know about its side effects other than poor libido.
Tinnitus has ruined my life. Now, I realize its the worst offender - poor libido is nothing compared to it.
Still, I wonder why don’t I find dutas link to tinnitus ? As a matter of fact, I also take zoloft and read at some places it could be the cause of tinnitus. But, I dont think that to be the case. People are attributing any and everything to tinnitus which is wrong.
A number of guys on this forum have developed tinnitus as a side effect (none of those took guys dutasteride). I know from my involvement with Accutane sufferers that they also have this problem. It basically seems to be one of the side effects which occurs from any medication that inhibits 5AR. Fortunately, not everyone gets hit.
Tinnitus is very annoying in the beginning. Just try not to concentrate on it. You will get used to it after a while.
