What (if any) treatments have you undertaken to recover from your side effects since discontinuation of the drug?
Amitriptyline, Solifenacin
Tell us your story, in your own words, about your usage and side effects experienced while on/off the drug.
-At first : sudden start of pain + urinary frequency after 2 months on fin, 4 days after increase in dosage. (Peeing 1-4x/hour (day)- 5 times / night) variable but always present “prostate pain” (between 2 and 8.5 out of 10 pain. average 5-6 out of 10)
-stopped fin 2 months later and saw a urologist
-started solifenacin and urinary frequency improved with it and frequency almost came back to normal except 3-4 hours per week where symptoms came back randomly
-then added amitriptyline for pain but came side effect from the two together (with solifenacin)
-ditched solifenacin to increase amitriptyline for pain: urinary frequency remained normal except on occasions. No relief for pain ever on high dose of amitriptyline for pain.
-Last week decided to restart finasteride since pain never went away (concluded finasteride was not the reason for my symptoms.) 0.25mg eod for 1 week. VERY BAD URINARY FREQUENCY CAME BACK
I feel doomed, nor will I be able to stop balding, nor will I be able to stop being in pain. It’s been a year of constant pain. Chronic pain is the most exhausting thing I have ever dealt with and my symptoms aren’t even common for propecia. 
btw I know about CPPS and also I was able to conclude that my symptoms are not linked with stress, anxiety etc.
