Tell us your story, in your own words, about your Finasteride usage and side effects experienced while on/off the drug.
When I first started Propecia, I immediately felt weird (brain fog). I also became very lethargic. I thought that was probably due to the depression of starting to lose my hair at a young age. I had read that a lot of symptoms subside with continued use, so I stayed on it. After a while, the symptoms disappeared and I felt completely normal on the drug. No ED or libido issues, although I was constantly worried about them and checking them. After a month and a half, my shedding had increased substantially and I began to worry about the long term effects of the drug. I decided that I wanted to quit. Oddly enough, as the days passed that I had been off the drug, the worse I felt. By day seven, which should be the day DHT returned to normal, I could no longer get an erection no matter what I did. That is when the depression/ anxiety set in. I began having suicidal thoughts and felt that my life was over. This site gave me hope that I could battle, but I still feel like my chances are pretty low. Even doctors who are treating this won’t even give patients hope that they’ll be normal again. Hopefully one of these protocols will work for me and I can regain at least some normal function.
