Kelp

Hey all,

Was wondering, what’s the general consensus on Kelp?

One of the hardest things to deal with with my PFS, and the one symptom that just keeps getting worse as the years go by, is my sensitivity to the cold. It’s becoming unbearable. It was actually 70 degrees today in NYC, but then my office turns the ac on just slightly and all of a sudden my dick is shriveled up like I fell into an ice pond. So I started searching the web and found that a lot of people claim success with Kelp for helping their sensitivity to cold weather. Have a lot of people on these boards tried it? Is it safe?

WHAT

Assuming you mean for the iodine. Not going to help much.

Get your cortisol and thyroid number in line and you will not be as cold. I used to have to wear sweaters and long sleeves every where and I was always still cold. Cortisol and NatureThroid mostly fixed this for me.

Might as well just take iodine (with selenium). I’m taking it now and I’m having good energy and feel warmer too. (Iodine is a thyroid hormone precursor).

How much of an improvement have you seen with iodine? I’ve just purchased some to sort out my cold limbs and brain fog.

@motionx – The iodine has helped with throat tightness, and has generally given me more energy to talk and interact with people, as well as the increased body temperature mentioned above.

It hasn’t done anything for mood or sexual symptoms, at least not for me.

I was thinking of adding a thyroid support supplement as it looks to be a good blend of iodine/selenium/zinc/copper but I’m always worried that adding a new supp might leave me worse off.

Anyone have experience taking something like this? Its basically a blend of iodine, b12, zinc, l-tyrosine, selenium, ashwaganda root, etc.

I’m not a fan of taking “multi-supplements”. If it has any effect, it’s impossible to know which compound is causing them.
