Juice - test results *Update*

Well I’m going to see an Endocrinologist tomorrow and hopefully get some blood tests done. To make a long story short, took proscar total of 4 5mg pills split up…so took it for 2-3 weeks. Had nut ache and sexual sides. I started in late Oct.

Testosterone, Total Value:299 Range:200-800ng/dl
T4,FREE Value 1.4 Range: 0.7-1.8ng/dL
THS Value: 2.08 Range: 0.34-2.50 UIU/ml
Hemoglobin Value:16.7 Range: 13.5-17.5g/dl
MCV Value: 92 Range 80-100 fL

“Aaron, your labs are normal, including testosterone, thyroid and Hemoglobin tests.”

Am I missing anything?
These are the tests I’m getting:

Total Test
Free Test
Bioavailable Test
Androstenedione
DHT
3alpa-diol G <----hopefully
Estradiol
LH
FSH
SHGB
Prolactin
TSH
FSH

let me know if I should add anything? I will post this in blood tests also. Thanks

Near hypogonadal.

What time were tests taken and when (before/after Fin use?).

If your doc thinks that low of a Testosterone level is fine for a young man in his 20s, seek another endo.

This was done by a regular doctor. I’m going to an endo. I’m 29. I think the tests were taken a few hours after i woke up. This was taken after Fin use.

Is this low of T normal for Post Fin sufferers?

Yes. Read FAQ at top of site to learn more.

Well that was very disappointing. He didn’t want to do any of the tests I listed. I told him this was basicly my morning so would be the best time to check T(the only thing he would test). He still wanted to check it at 8 am. He said if its 350 its fine…I somehow managed to twist his arm and get an E2 test in there. Geesh the way he was acting it was like it was coming out of his pocket. Also told me to wait 6 months and if its low and i’m still having symptoms then we could try androgel! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. He pretty much snickerd when I meantioned I did some research online. This did not go as I had hoped at all. Oh yeah I just remembered…He said “You might think you have something that you don’t have”

Well then you have a decision to make:

  1. Stick with this doctor and try the treatment he suggests after 6 months if results come back low again

… or…

  1. Seek another endo.

TRT should be a last resort since it shuts down your own Testosterone production. Clomid, hCG and Nolvadex can boost endogeneous production and should be considered before resorting to TRT. More details in DRUG THERAPY section.

There are also natural supplements like Tribulus and Tongkat Ali which can potentially boost Tesotsterone. Check NATURAL SUPPLEMENTS section of website for more info, sticky posts etc.

Good luck.

i would run for the hell away from this doctor!

6 f*ckin months is he crazy

dude if you are having low energy and can’t get it up i wouldn’t wait 6 months

get another doctor, please!

Another incompetent doctor…Find another…

Why not see Dr. Crisler so you don’t have to deal with this BS. I’ve been through 5 doctors, trust me it’s a waste of time…It will make you very frustrated.

Thanks guys. I might have to go the all natural route for now. I really wanted these tests so i could have some comparison in 6 months. I was really looking forward to meeting with this guy and getting somewhere.
I think I found another doctor here in MN he helps men and women find relief from the symptoms of hormone imbalance such as menopause, andropause, thyroid disorder and adrenal fatigue. Sounds expensive, maybe i can get the tests done there.
I don’t think I will be going through this guy I met with today after I get the T and E2 results back. Why would his first option be to put a 29 yo on andro gel? I asked him if clomid, hcg, and tamoxifen where all in the same catagorey, but he didnt seem too familiar with them. Thanks again.

If you want to pay for your own tests, see here:

Juice,

I went through a similar experience. It took me three endo drs to get one that cared and was open-minded.

Keep trying. Try to find one based on a recommendation rather than just picking one arbitrarily.

Also, do make sure your next set of tests are done between 8:00-8:30 am. This supposed to be the time when men’s hormone levels are highest.

Not sure if this means anything. This is all he would test for.
Luteinizing hormore 2.7 mlU/mL >See Range Chart
Estradiol <12>See Range Chart
FSH 4.3 mlU/mL >Undefined
Test 349 ng/dL 240-950
Test Free 13.3 ng/dL 9.0 30.0

“Your hormone levels all look just fine. If you are still having symptoms in 3 Mo please make a follow up visit with me.”

Going to try DTH and brocolli treatment maybe sustain alpha in the mean time.

Edit your post, and put RANGES beside the results please.

But judging from your Testosterone results, I’m guessing they will be on the low side.

Thanks Mew for moving my post yet again  Is there a donate button somewhere? I think your doing a great job on this site…much appreciated sir.

He put >See Range Chart, but didn’t give me a chart sigh only for Testosterone.

Well its been over 6 months and I went back and ran some blood tests here are the results:
(Dr. was a urologist, not the original endo Dr I saw. 1st visit about 6-8 months ago, he said come back if problems persist)
Testosterone: 248.25 (175.00-781.00 ng/dL)

Testosterone, Free: L 6.5 (9.0-30.00 ng/dL)

Testosterone, Bioavailable: 153 (40-235 ng/dL)

SHBG: 17.9 (13.3-89.5 nmol/L)

Albumin-Olympus: 4.3 (3.5-5.0 g/dL)

LH: 3.2 (1.24.8.62 mIU/mL)

Prolactin: H 18.64 (2.64-13.13 ng/mL)

So as you would guess I had to get an MRI and here are the results from that.
CONCLUSION:

  1. The pituitary gland appears normal.
  2. A few, small, randomly distributed foci of signal change are noted in the brain,
nonspecific as to etiology. These possibly could relate to prior vasculitis, injury, or
inflammatory process. These are not typical of demyelinating lesions, based upon the distribution.
Also, non of these appear to be active.
  3. Two small (less than 10 mm) mucous retention cysts within the sphenoid sinus
anteriorly and on the left side.

I now have an appointed with another Dr. who better specializes in hormones, but not for another 2 1/2 months. I might go and see a neurologist as well so he can explain my MRI.

Juice,

Any doctor that tells you these results are normal for a 29 year old man, is off is rocker and shouldn’t have a license to practice medicine.

Your Total T is very low. The ranges labs provide are so misleading. IMO I feel they should just tell you what percent of the, “So called healthy range” you are at. Your Total T would put you at .121% of the range from top to bottom. That would be a low for a senior citizen.

Your Free T is off chart negative. Mine has also been there many times when I tested, so this is a common theme for PFS guys.

Add T3, T4, Free T3, Free T4, RT3, IGF-1, Vit D to your next test. These all tie into the Thyroid problem that many of us seem to have.
