Source?

Firstly, it’s 4mg of copper per day, NOT 4g. Considering the average maintenance replacement dose is 4 to 8mg, I’d say that 4mg is thus on the lower side, huh?

It is accepted that copper that is too high or too low is detrimental. Having recently experienced low copper, FUCK ME, I don’t need to quote sources to know how horrible I felt. I’m happy with my 4mg replacement dose and am starting to sleep better and feel good. Sexual functioning is improving again.

Anyway

Zinc 12.2 on range (10 to 19) !! even on 75mg per day!! Now increased to 90mg per day to try and achieve a value of 15

Copper 10.3 on range (11 to 22), now on 4mg copper per day

Histamine 0.2 on a range (0.2 to 2.0) . Dr Greg states I am ‘overmethylating’ and has placed me on Vit B12 2000mcg in the morning and folinic acid 1g twice a day. I need to read a bit more about this overmethylation; certainly not something I learned about at med school.

MartinM, I WILL answer your sexual based questions soon, I promise! But all is going well on that front and I’m a bit nervous about my tennis match tonight.

Also, UK20, don’t worry about money. Educate yourself a bit and you can make some steps forward. It’s a process.

Take care chaps

JN are yous till taking the compound pyroluria sups as well? (b6, vit c vit e, biotin)

I am desperate for a decent all in one supplement with this. My multi is pretty good though.

JN, would you only recommend transdermal magnesium? i took magnesium citrate before from NOW and it seems to help me out a little bit all round.

I would ideally like to find a transdermal preparation that does not ruin anything it touches apart from skin and dissolves quickly.

JN would you recommend trying a zinc/copper supplement? Or first do an analysis to see where our levels are? BTW I appreciate you sticking around to help people despite feeling better lately

Joetz,

Good question. You really need quite intensive analysis to guide you. It looks like 90mg of zinc takes me to an optimal level, but over the last few days, I can feel my copper sliding back down again (even tho 4mg copper has been added to supplement). I got blood tested again 3 days ago to prove this (still waiting for result) but in the meantime have taken extra copper (8mg per day in total for last 3 days after bloodtest). Honestly, I feel better already!! (sexual fuctioning, sleep and even sweating a bit more).

Dr Greg said my replacement dose will be between 4 and 8mg, and it looks to be higher than 4mg for sure.

Tedious stuff hey? And that’s just zinc/copper! I must say that I think these minerals are critical to functioning (sexual and otherwise).

JN

I’ve noticed a few supps that claim to promote DNA methylation contain copper glycinate.

Any thoughts?

Just wondering, how can you tell?

JN
you wrote once after fin use your T was above normal and now you say it is below normal. Can you tell the reason?
Have you ever had any MRI? are you going to have any one?
I can tell you, you can note today’s date and my words, our problem is auto immune disorder. No matter what you do , you will come to square one.
I know this will annoy you and you will be angry at me but I don’t care.

visionquest, here are my blood results from Sunday: Results are 2 weeks on zinc 90mg and copper 4mg.

caeruloplasmin (copper binding protein) was 10.3 ( i think range is 11 to 20) LOW
copper was 10.0 (range 11 to 22). LOW This is reduced from 10.3!! (when I was on no copper, and zinc 75mg per day)
serum zinc pending

I knew it!!! I could feel it. 4mg is not enough. I genuinely believe this whole copper/zinc issue is the last piece of my jigsaw. I just knew; sexuality off, mood down.

I’ve been on 8mg copper in the morning for last 4 days and feeling better. Interestingly felt a bit manic/hyperactive/overenergetic yesterday morning (copper is intimately related to mood and maybe a 8mg blast causes a bit too much free copper?) and felt strangely a prostate issue or two in the evening and weaker erections in the evening ( so will take the 4mg nutritional supplement in the morning and take 4mg later in the day)…divide the dose up.

I am the most impatient man in the world. I want to be better soon, and I believe I’ll get there soon. Watch this space.

  1. Yes, I was on T for 5 years or so. Now I take no meds whatsoever. My T is currently low but it will rise once my copper/zinc is sorted out. Dr Greg is confident of this, and so am I.

  2. I’ve not an MRI. I don’t need one.

  3. Your horseshit has been noted- thanks

  4. I’m not annoyed, I’m amused. Take care.

JN

Apollogies for short thread-diggression. Striken, in auto-immune processes: it doesnt mean neccesarly “back to square one, whatever you do”. In that part it is a “horseshit” statement. Namely, every cronical (as well as auto-immune) disease has its root cause. I wrote 18 points of JN, and interpreted it as a good try of someone who actually HAS a medical knowledge to explain possible root causes of PFS (by supsumation of it as cronical fatigue syndrom, which could be genus proximum of PFS). JN counted (as well) some mainly unrecognized trigger-factors for ilnesses, but those claims has sense.

D.

JN even though i dont beleive in your treatment protocol for recovery i would still appreciate it if you can write up how to go about this protocol of yours , even though i dont agree with it that being said i will still give it a try since i got nothing to loose and really desperate at this point…

I’ve just seen Emerson again and it turns out my zinc is low. So I go on a compounded mix of vitamins and minerals aimed at correcting the zinc deficiency like JN has done.

Will keep you all posted. It will take time however, probably months.

Hey J89,

Yes, good work. What I’m coming to learn and feel, and what Dr Emerson is working on, is that one’s zinc: copper ratio is very important.

I can still feel my copper is low. He’s placed me on 8mg of copper per day and I can certainly feel an improvement on the increase in copper.

To add, my latest zinc level was 22 on a range of (10 to 19) so HIGH.
I’m going to take 3 out of 4 of my zinc capsules to reduce zinc slightly. (4 capsules make up 90mg).

I’m pleased I added ‘zinc and copper issues’ to the 18 points I made a couple of months ago. This is DEFINITELY where part of the problem lies; optimisation is required, and yes, it takes time.

JN

I’m following this thread with great interest. Based on some of my own experiences, I also believe that metals play a role in this. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.

This is what I’m dying to know as well…

Can you give us a run down on how this is all going JN?

Good or bad…

Make sure that you are testing and tracking magnesium as well JN.
