Anyone had this after quitting? Had if for about 2 weeks, been off Fin for 4 months.
yep
Still got it or did it go?
not in the same way. Originally I had an aching sensation, now I have a problem with popping jaw just like most of my joints, the muscles aren’t strong enough to hold properly, and the structure is out of place which presses on nerves, so I get sharp pains in the teeth that have become sensitive.
So it’s not the same as it was originally but there’s still an issue.
I get the aching jaw muscles and popping in the jaw too, but only on the right side. It’s likely from nighttime clenching and grinding from the stress of all this. Could also be drug-induced, as I know anti-depressants can cause the same phenomenon.
I think the jaw popping and pain is generally harmless unless it is an extreme circumstance. I used to take Effexor for about 8 years, and had constant everyday pain and clicking in my jaws, but it went away after I stopped. It just recently came back a couple months after I quit fin, though not as intense.
I would be more worried about potential damage to my teeth. It would probably be a good idea to look into some kind of guard to wear at night. You can easily crack a tooth if you’re not careful.
I grind my teeth and clench so hard that I can’t ever relax the muscles and the nerves are inflamed. The popping will wear the joint down over time.
I tried the guard route but the muscles are so soft that they stretched and changed my bite, be careful if you do this because the change can be permanent. I found that it was being aggravated by the computer because I only used one hand for the mouse which pulled all of the muscle structure in one way and the exit point for the pressure was one side of my jaw.
No advice but to take it easy on the computer, find a comfortable position and try to exercise the body especially the shoulders often.
Omg I noticed this too, but i never attributed it too fin!
When I make out with my gf my jaw pops so i have to stop!
Never had this problem before fin.
I know this thread is old, however, for the past 2 months I’ve been suffering from the same thing. Throughout the day my jaw is tight, and I get a “release” from clenching my teeth together (Not necessarily grinding). It has been consistant enough that I keep packs of gum in my car, house, and at work.
I couldn’t help but notice some applicable, associated factors with the issue:
High levels of anxiety, stress, work-related stress, irregular work shifts, stressful profession and ineffective coping strategies
Drug use, such as SSRIs and stimulants, including methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA), methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA), methylphenidate and other amphetamines
Hypersensitivity of the dopamine receptors in the brain
Since I can’t say my stress levels are elevated, and no longer take medicine anymore. I can’t help but assume that it’s related to dopamine somehow. My worst episodes of this side effect are directly correlated with my best sexual functioning. Just a thought.
I would love some feedback if anyone has similar issues, or how you’ve remedied them.
i only had pain around my eye area, but now … 4 month afterwards i had this since 2 weeks (it is interesting that its exacly the same time frame like you). I also had extrreme pain in my chin, which now has shrunken, aswell as my jaw. In my case I attribute the jaw-ache and chin-ache to bone loss, because the bone loss only occured when the jaw and chin ache started.
Fortunately i didnt expereience too much pains for the last week and i hope the bone loss has stopped, or I will kill myself.
