My husband refuses to believe that his use of propecia is in direct relationship to his lack of desire for me and his depression. I’ve definitely noticed DRASTIC differences, but his hair appears to be more important than our life together. I want to substitute his propecia with a placebo to see if I can get him to see the difference; of course, providing getting off the drug could turn him around and the effects aren’t permanent.
Any placebos that can pass for this horrible drug???
Thank you.
Sugar pill perhaps… But I don’t know how to make it look like propecia. Would have to speak to a doc
I’d be cautious about screwing with his dosage. There’s a possibility his system may crash once he stops taking the drug, so it’s really something you should talk to him more about. Now obviously staying on the drug will make things worse, but he needs to be aware of what’s happening to him.
Hopefully once he stops taking it his body can re-adjust to being normal again. I’m sorry you’re in such a difficult situation. Hair isn’t worth your life, and I don’t think he realizes how much he stands to lose.
Have him review the Finasteride Studies section of this website, that might make him change his mind. Depression has been correlated with Finasteride use due to blockade of neurosteroids in the brain.
