Is shrinkage reversible?

Hello everybody,

I had PFS for 2 years now and things just getting worse. But my worst symptome is the really bad shrinkage. My oenis became like 50% thinner and and 30% shorter since i stopped that poison. If i use a vacuum pump i just can reach the half of the size of my penis, which i had before finasterid. that is so depressing. Urologist can not help. They say its not reversible and it comes fromm the weak erections that i had for such a long time. but maybe i will never know. I just want to know if here are people who got their size back after such a shrinkage. Is that reversible? im 1000% sure that my tissue have changed. I also have a really bad soft glans.
If i would know that one day i could get my usual penis size back, things would be maybe easier for me.
I would be very happy to hear some experiences.

In my case, it reversed after hormonal treatment (clomid). However, I’m still on the treatment. I’m not saying it is a miraculous cure for everybody, but I’m sure something can be done to improve your sexual health. You just need to find a really good endocrinologist.

Thank you for that! Gives me hope. Could you please tell me what doses and for how long you took clomid?
And how has the tissue changed with clomid?

I would really wish to get my old size back but its hard to believe, because in flaccid and in erect state everything has become so much thinner and shorter, its crazy.

I started with 50 mg daily. At first, I observed further shrinkage, which lasted over a month. I was about to quit, when noticed an improvement. It was a rather high dose and actually, penile size and overall wellbeing was even better than before finasteride. However, my doctor decided to taper off clomid slowly (it may increase the risk of prostate hypertrophy or even cancer in the future; that’s why a doctor’s supervision is so important) and at the moment I am taking 50 mg twice per week. At this dose, the effects are no longer so impressive but still I am a lot better than before treatment (I consider it normal).

Thanks for your quick answer. So would you recommend me to start with 50mg daily and than a higher dose? I would try it for 1-2 months and than maybe stay on 50mg 2 times a week like you. The worst shrinkage i experience is the girth. In flaccid and specially in erect state its at the most 50% like before finasterid. I hope my endocrinologist will help me.

I recommend you find a doctor, who is familiar with PFS (unless you are one :wink: ). What I’m saying is that I started with high dose and then, after a few months, I was decreasing very slowly, under my endocrinologist’s supervision. Every three months I get my testosterone (T) level measured and twice a year prostate specific antigen tested. The thing is that the normal range of T is very wide and each man functions well at different level. For example, John experiences no problems at normal low, whereas George at the same T level suffers from libido loss and depression.
I’m sure you will get better, with a little patience.
