Is kidney disease another symptom of PFS

Have had routine bloods taken for my rheumatoid and for the first time Ive been informed my kidneys are showing signs of abnormal levels. I.e. Serum Creatine! My lifestyle is very healthy and there’s no obvious eason for this to happen. However since PFS my urination has changed in terms of colour sometimes clear but more than often dark despite water in take within recommended amounts approx 3 litres daily. Foods for happy kidneys are avoided due to most of these aggravating PFS. Any views on this and suggestions to bring the level back into the normal range without fallout from pfs? Cheers

All I can tell you is I have had symptoms physical symptoms that I thought could be liver and kidney function related…I started eating baking soda and crazy as it sounds it helped me a lot…So I could never understand why and made several posts here about it and still dont know.

Thanks Holyhead,
I also tried baking soda a few months ago but it irritated my PFS so ditched it. As part of PFS I have insomnia, erectile dysfunction, numb fingers and toes with intermittent pins and needles as well as many other symptoms. However these can also be attributed to kidney disease. Like everything, nothing is clear cut/makes sense with PFS

send me your CMP lab work so I can take a look at it

Ah sorry didn’t not the actual results was just told my serum creatine was higher than the normal range. My skin is extremely dry at the moment and other symptoms have ticked up a notch. I.e. pretty bad

I added fresh lemon to my water to improve kidney function and it has just made things worse, and ideas chaps?

I wonder if kidney disease is the reason some PFS patients suffer from frequent urination ?

My frequent urination started 6 years ago. It is worse when PFS is bad and sometimes really dark. All very strange but I believe hormonal related and over time leading to disease. All of the symptoms cannot continue in the long-term without causing organ damage

Surely more water, meaning that the fluid going through the kidney is more dilute is better for the kidney than adding more things for it to remove?

I’m obviously not an expert, so I may have that wrong.

Good point Greek. I drink loads of the stuff & lemon is recommended as a kidney cleanser/function enhancer. I’ll stick to water after the probs hopefully bloods will return to normal.

I have impaired kidney function (somewhat elevated creatinine levels), but I don’t know what caused it.

Have you tried taking baking soda ? that might help with your kidneys.

Cheers Mark I did but it heightened other PFS symptoms unfortunately. Most things I try often give a brief uplift followed by a crash.
