Is Hair Loss a good sign?

In the last few weeks I’ve started to lose a lot of hair on the front of my head. I’m wondering is this a sign that my body is starting to recover from Finasteride ?

Do people who start to recover also lose their hair ?

Have either of you developed scalp itching? I have been off propecia for 10 months and all of a sudden I am getting severe itching scalp but some sexual improvements. Anyone else experience this?

No my hair loss has slowed down now.

I wish mine would slow down. Although they have the little white bulbs Fina mentioned in another thread, so maybe they’ll grow back? Fina, could you elaborate on the white bulb thing you mentioned?

I know a guy who has androgen resistance/insensitivity…meaning he was born with a genetic mutation that makes him basically not respond to androgens. The guy is uber smart so I asked him why his hair line is receding even though he is androgen insensitive…

MPB is merely a product of the sensitivity of the AR-dependent miniaturization genes in the follicle stem cells. In my case, even though I am androgen insensitive, my genes code for VERY sensitive hair growth inhibitor genes, and as such, even a small amount of activated ARs binding to my follicle cell’s DNA will produce a very large amount of hair growth inhibiting molecules, and male pattern baldness will result. If you want an added example, have you ever noticed an Indian male who can grow a full beard and is yet very skinny? Simply put, the hair growth promoting genes in his follicles are extremely sensitive to the AR-dependent pathway, while growth promoting genes in his myofibers (mTOR, ODC-1, MyoD etc.) are not.

hypothyroidism
T3/rT3 more than 20
no hashimoto’s
no thyroid Anti bodies.

It seems to go in cycles for me. I definitely lose more daily than I did while on fin. But some weeks I seem to lose a lot from the front and crown, and other weeks it seems to have stopped. Haven’t gotten my DHT results back yet since stopping but hopefully it’s back within range. With regards to itching, I definitely have itchy dandruff now, and itchy bumps on the back of my scalp (behind the ears especially). Not sure what caused that though!
