Iodine -- Huge progress

I’ve made some progress with Magnesium, B-complex and the B12, so I will give the Iodine a try but will go slow…

My body is perpetually cold.

As a supplement I’ve been using Detoxadine for the past month and I recommend it, along with a Selenium-Copper source. With just 3 drops a day I got noticeable benefits, morning wood, body temperature etc. Definitely not healed, but it helps.

Which product are you using?

Iodine: Detoxadine by GHC
Selenium: Nature’s Way 200 mgc
Zinc/Copper: Jarrow Zinc balance 15mg Zing 1mg Copper

I tried iodine for the first time last night. It seems to make a big difference. Actually I almost felt normal today. How many drops should you take daily? I guess it’s not really bad if you force the dose a bit at first, considering your body is lacking it, right?

so where is this guy ??? is he really cured ?

Anyone else tried iodine recently?

I’ll throw in my experience with Iodine. Around 3-4 years ago I was doing huge doses of Lugols Iodine, probably around 40 mg (not micrograms, milligrams) a day which is an enormous amount. I had strange body reactions like little red spots appearing on my skin as if I was detoxing. It gave me extreme brain fog and made me lethargic and depressed but I continued hoping for a light at the end of the tunnel. I kept it up for about 3 months and stopped because I wasn’t getting better. Obviously I’m still not cured. I should also note that it increased my TSH level from within range all the way up to a whopping 10 (range is 0.1-4.0).

I was recently suggested to try detoxadine which is an atomic form of iodine (more easily used by the body) and felt extreme apathy after taking it similar to when I take lugols. I stopped taking and after two days returned to my normal PFS baseline. I tried it again (3 drops) and a few hours later the extreme apathy kicked in again and lasted again for around 24 hours. I went and tried one drop by itself a couple of weeks later and again felt the apathy and depression. I had been taking selenium and chromium as well as a multi-mineral supplement all while doing this (and continue to do so).

I don’t know what any of this means. We could say that maybe I am in dire need of iodine and am having huge detoxification symptoms or any other number of theories, but that’s what happened to me - decipher it how you like.

When I first crashed, little red spots appeared all over the palms of my hands. What you described sounded similar so I’m going to upload a picture of them I took a few days post crash and tell me if it the same type of red bumps you had.

They’re very faint in that picture but they’re there… and that was something that was very strange to me. I woke up one morning with all the symptoms of pfs and those red spots appeared at the same time. I don’t really know what that means but it leads me to believe there is some sort of auto immune our allergic reaction taking place with pfs sufferers.

you can fuck your thyroid. you are getting hyperthyroid symptoms not cured. just forcing your body with thyroid, this may return you as " low cortisol indicators on" in near future just like i did.

Boosting your thyroid does stress your adrenals as well, so if you already have busted adrenals supplementing with iodine may be tricky.

I agree with AntonioBR over your apathy symptom. That’s what happens to me with adrenals, all the time… but only at certain hours of day. I’m slowly improving the situation but the adrenals are the reason why I don’t play around with thyroid hormones, unless if I can do CT3M and can fall asleep again after the first initial dose. If you are brave, you can try doing Lugol’s but next time with 2-3g of Solgar Ester C - type of Vitamin C (without any quercetin) & see if the apathy doesn’t happen as strong again.

As for red spots, those are happening to me during detox, they happen all over my torso. They were the worst during water fast, when my whole torso looked like I was having the chicken pox/boils. I still keep getting them and I think methylfolate (along with other methylation supplements) and selenium gives me them & I connect them to improvements.

Anyone has read this thread extensively can summarize the overall experience?

So many things to try and I v been doing my own share of experimenting with other things…

Ok, I have read this entire thread.

Further studies need to be done but from what I can gather this is the best dosing known atm from the information given and my own experimental knowledge:
*Cut grain and sugar from diet.
*Eat only solid (meat and vegetable) meals(salt these with ionized salt!)
*Eat fruit in the morning once you get up, then brush your teeth
This is my example food to get the nutrients above.
**Steak for zinc/iron/salt served with potatoes and green beans.
**Brazil nuts for selenium. Snack
**Sunlight for vitamin d(I use bioslab pro vitamin d and k mix for winter) vitamin k should be taken with vitamin d.
**Fruits(berries(antioxidants), oranges(Vitamin C), grapefruit(good source copper), avocados(copper)
**Lots of plant foods(to increase your oxygen) this one is still very hard for me(pesticides, stomach upset, bad taste, oxaylic acid, phytoestrogens) plus I am suppose to eat a large amount like herbivores…its an ugly and confusing substance.
**Row machine/weightlifting/sprinting (quick movements and bursts/heavy weights)(dont hurt yourself and dont do this around high salt intake)
**Destress, (think like a kid here)watch cartoons for positivity if you have to, stop smoking/drinking/toxic stuff. Dont over think things!! Be random as intelligently as possible.
**let your anger out when you lift weights
*HAVE A SLEEP SCHEDULE, missing sleep wrecks havoc on you. It sucks I know!
My phone is dying had to rush this, but you get the idea. Its what works for me, going to increase my salt intake though, but only since I have a low sodium diet
. Hope this helps, will try and update further on the iodine increase but I am not going too crazy with it lol

Has anyone else had success with Iodine ?

I am a bit scared of taking it. gonna ask for iodine test from my gp first.

My endocrinologist very sternly warned me against using iodine. I know we don’t completely trust doctors on here but it seems it can do more harm than good

How can it cause harm ?

She said it can throw off the functioning of thyroid and adrenals depending on the person. Also according to google “Too much iodine may lead to thyroiditis and thyroid papillary cancer.”

Not to say that I haven’t tried iodine. I used lugols iodine for a few months at a very low dose in 2015, which is when the endocrinologist told me not to use it anymore at my first appointment. I don’t remember it having any effects other than maybe more energy. But for energy I’m having good success with pregnenolone and DHEA right now
