Informing your employer about PFS?

Maybe a stupid question, but has anyone had to, or decided to inform their employer about what they’re going through with PFS? I can see how this can be a serious threat to one’s employment & I just don’t see how we can conceal it.

If so, any suggestions?

Hey,

I would not do that. See, even it´s very very very hard to find a Doc, who belives about PFS.
Most have absolut no clue. See, most doc, even when your balls and dick is shrunken and you have breasts, would say you are totaly ok.
Take something similar, that Doc´s cant realy prove, most and sadly a main diagnosis is Depression, but this also gives you a stamp. It´s realy not easy.

I had to… I was a cop. It was obvious I was going through some horrible shit. I told them leaving out the details of the sexual side effects. They tried to help a little but talking to a therapist doesn’t help when propecia is reeking havock on your mind and body. Eventually it all came crashing down and I was demoted to a non gun carrying position with half the pay… 3 months after I have recovered from most of the mental sides… But the ball started rolling long before that. If only I could have held onto my mind a few more months I might still have that job. See my.member story for more details.

Ohio… maybe consult with a disability attorney? They might have an idea of where you stand. You really arn’t required to give your employer detials, they only need to know you are disabled. I’d see where you stand with regard to disability law before I spoke to an employer about it.

Boston’s suggestion is very sensible. I think you would have to be very careful if you decide to tell your employer about your situation and you would want to make sure not to tell them too much information.

Thanks for the replies. You guys make sense. I’ll try to get through it at work, as best I can.

I’ve considered telling them I have CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) because some of the work-impacting symptoms of that are similar to what we have?

I told mine just mention your fatigued, unwell, not feeling yourself, It helps. My boss said " your not the same ******* we all love and know at work, hope you get better soon. Just accept that your not 100% at the moment and we know your an excellent worker so keep trying your best".
