Ihatepropecia1's brain fog discussion

what do you mean by do not overshoot it? I am taking 15mg right now which is supposedly pretty low. My doctor is the one that gave it to me.

What did you do to get rid of your brain fog?? is it permanent for me :(?

Brain fog is one of those symptoms that I often see resolve on their own in people. Do you have ADHD or are you just taking stimulants for your brain fog?

I have ADHD but I am also using it to reduce the brain fog. It worked the first few days but stopped, I can’t function again. I am thinking of trying Modafinil

Brother modafinil was better for me but my doc insisted on mph and my dose was 20 mg extended release. Then he raised to 40 because of my weight and my Brain returned. Give it time at least 1 month.

Hi everyone. I’ve been off fin for over one month. After having to drop half of my college courses because finasteride made me retarded I also lost my job and am failing two of the easiest classes in the school. Upon a phsychiatrist recommendation I have been taking adderall for two weeks which helped a lot in the beginning but my brain is still barely working. I can’t think, I can’t function, there’s constant pressure in my head that’s not a headache but severe pressure is the only way to describe it. I don’t know if I should get off the adderall or if its making me worse long term? Also what do I do? If I can’t resolve this soon I’m heading down the path of being another suicide victim because of finasteride. Do you guys recommend stopping adderall even though it’s the one thing that makes me able to read 1 page a day? Should I try modafinil? Clomid? Mushrooms?

And please don’t give me the BS eat healthy and get enough sleep. I’ve had a perfect diet and perfect sleep the past fucking month and nothing. I’m sick of this

I’d advise against this, particularly at such an early stage of having PFS. Aromatase Inhibitors have caused a worsening for some with PFS and are the direct cause of some of our members’ problems.

So you think no adderall is that what you mean? Or is adderall ok?

Cortef helps with brainfog

Just 1 month? Your journey is only just beginning. I was for 2 years on brain fog… did not get better on its own at all, until I started taking supplements. My 2c.

whats that

what supplements did you take?

Tribulus, creatine, sorghum…

Jfyi, all those 3 supplements are reported harmful on this website, people been worsened on these. Beware!

I’ve tried the past two months to accept that I might not have PFS and that it might go away but it’s bull shit and I’m done. I was a pre med 4.0 student with a great job, now I have no job, had to drop out of school because of brain fog post fin. In 2 months I’ve gotten 0 improvement. I have to take adderall just to be able to get up and talk, finasteride brain fog won’t go away because it’s brain damage and I’m convinced that I’m permanently damaged and it’s sickening. I’m done with this I’ve tried everything to fix this and time healing is bull shit, if it didn’t heal by now it never will.

A matter of months isn’t worth the rest of your life. Please try think with logic and not emotion. You will be a doctor one day and be able to help warn people of the dangers of these things. Hang in there- it’s worth your life. If not for you, for your family.

You ever had your cortisol tested?

Do I have any options for brain fog at this point? I have posted my results from blood work am I missing any tests that could be affecting the brain. Is this brain fog and headaches and feeling permanent, I’d it possible I have full on brain damage that’s irreversible. I’m going to do a bone broth fast this weekend but need to know what my other options are. I don’t even care if my dick doesn’t work but I want my damn brain. What supplements have people tried and have had success with? Has anyone seen dr Irwin Goldstein in SAN DIEgo? Help me please

I’m 2 months post my last finasteride pill and no improvements. Someone posted a pic of a doctor on reddit denouncing PFS, that was on my post. I’ve gotten multiple messages from the same ā€œdoctorā€ denouncing it. At this point I’m lost on what to do. The only way I can function day to day is through aderall. Today I didn’t take aderall and I couldn’t function, felt brain dead, and have had a headache all day. I’m taking vitamin d pills and eating healthy but I’m lost on what else to try. Is trying clomid worth it? Should I see an endocrinologist? Do I have options for recovery? Is aderall making me worse? I’m seriously getting close to suicide at this point,

Yes, see an endocrinologist. Maybe you’re lucky and you have some hormone imbalance that can be corrected and would result in at least some if not all of your symptoms to go away. Also, if you suffer from ED, there is a good chance Adderall is making that worse, as it can cause it too.

And I beg you, see a psychotherapist. However bad it may seem right now, there is always hope and suicide isn’t the answer. Therapy won’t cure your symptoms but will almost certainly improve how you feel mentally about the whole situation.

I agree see an endocrinologist that knows about male hormones and balancing T and E, if your E gets too high on TRT it makes you feel bad as well.

I agree with everything Trace said, to see if there are clinics that would allow you to see a psychotherapist but do not take antidepressants.
