…in the finasteride studies, it expressly states that the half life for finasteride unbinding from the 5-alpha-reductase II enzyme after ONE DOSE of finasteride is about(~) 30 days. I realize that the serum level of finasteride is out of our systems after a few hours, but I have yet to receive a good response to why this particular fact in the finasteride studies is there. If finasteride is completely gone from our system within a day or so, why in the world would someone document the half life of finateride unbinding from the enzyme being rougly 30 days? And where is this dihydrofinasteride molecule if not in the serum – in the prostate wall, or is it in the serum?
This next part is pure theoretical, but I think that the drug compounds a bit after being taken for a period of time so as to make the half life longer, 50 days for instance.
