I have my prostate checked regularly and my Family doc tells me I have a prostate of a 20 yr old. I seen a urologist yesterday and he told me it was fine/small. I would imagine it is like this from taking the finasteride for many years.
I also have urgency and frequency issues with urination and I dont drink above average fluid consumption, nor do I drink any caffeine or diuretic types of liquids.
I have to focus and push with PC muscle to start flow.It doesn’t just flow by relaxing, also it seems as if I dont fully empty.I have to go every 2 hours and in the range of 8-10 times/day.
The urologist is sending me for urodynamic analysis to see if I have an issue with detrusor hyperactivity.
Can a small prostate be a cause of this? What else may cause this?
I’m aware that neurogenic DH is common in diseases like MS and Parkinson’s. I have some slight hyposensities/susseptability in my Substantia Nigra bi-laterally as seen in my latest MRI from May/2008.This may have been trigered from trauma I went through(Car accident) and then escalated from oxidative stress from the destruction of dopamanergic neurons in the Nigra. The hemosiderin could lead to free radical damage and iron storage.
I am doing chelation with Calcium EDTA,L-Cysteine and N-A-C and taking vitamin E as well.
I am taking a balanced formulation to increase my precursor amino acids. It’s Neroreplete.
I haven’t started any dopaminergic drug yet,as my neurologist tells me I dont have any symptoms of PD even though I have been experiencing fatigue, slowness, sleeping problems and slight tremor in the right arm and legs that gets worse from lack of sleep and physical exertion/exercise.
I also have low libido which of course could also be from finasteride and a hormonal imbalance and erectile difficulties.
Does anyone know if the small prostate or coming off the finasteride can cause this? Thanks in advance.
