I don't understand this at all

Hi all
I’m Alex, 19 years old. I started to lose my hair a year ago and it seems that in one year I’ll be totally bald. I went to the doctor and without any hesitation he recommended me to start using propecia and promised me that this shit helps almost everyone who takes it. For me, as someone who usually believes to doctors, I had no doubts about this issue and I knew I’m going to start using it and I was so happy to know that there is a solution to this disturbing issue of hair loss.
So I bought this shit and was about to take the first pill, but before I did it I just googled the word “propecia” just to be more happy of reading other people’s positive comments about this thing. Some how I came across this forum and was so shocked to see the exact opposite of what the doctor said to me earlier, after reading some comments in this forum I thought I’m going to put a bullet in my head, it was so frustrating but then I realized that maybe I need to be happy about having so much luck to know about all the shit that this crap does to people before I took the first pill.
I came back to my doctor and showed him this forum and he just started to laugh and he said that all of you must be some either planted or you pretend like you have those problems and he said that I have to believe him because he is a doctor and he doesn’t has any reason to worsen my situation by giving me a poisonous drug.
I don’t have to tell you that today I know for sure that this crook was lying to me and from all the stories I heard lately I have no doubts about the danger that this drug creates.
But the thing I really don’t understand is , how the hell my doctor which I really counted on him until now, lied to me like that , and from other stories I heard, it was the same to many others people with their doctors.
How the hell this drug is still selling and nobody tried to sue the company that creates this shit?!
If it is really a poison , so this crap must be annihilated for good before anymore people will get hurt from this.
I might be lucky not to touch it but I know that there are so many people like me who won’t have that luck and eventually they will end up using this drug and their life will be ruined.

I know my message is kinda pointless but I think all of you guys who have been hurt from this drug, must take an action and sue the company that responsible for your problems and maybe one day they will stop selling it and ruining people’s life.

I hope to hear some comments about this issue if you have any…

It takes a lot of evidence to even be able to consider suing a company, nevermind a pharmaceutical giant like Merck. That’s not to say it won’t happen sometime in the future, but it depends on each individual who has been negatively effected by this drug banding together to do something about it.

This drug does have a purpose, ie saving someone’s life from prostate cancer via androgen deprivation. But marketing the exact same medication for cosmetic purposes (hairloss) does seem a bit extreme. Unfortunately it is the best option men have for holding onto their hair, but at what cost?

Merck knows this and markets it to fearful balding men, downplaying the possible negative outcomes of use.

Thanks for your support, who knows what the future may bring.

Your doctor is likely not lying - he’s just deeply ignorant in the matter, and his belittlement and mockery of these horrible stories says plenty of his credulity and overall character. Believe it or not, there are loads of these type of clowns prancing around in white coats, so take this as a lesson.

I was 19 when this began; it took 3.5 years to overcome the symptoms. Count yourself very lucky you found this place, and avoid finasteride - it is not a safe hair loss treatment.
