I don't see the purpose of living a healthy lifestyle anymor

Hey all,

Long time lurker and just signed up recently.
Long story short, I took propecia for 14 months, tapered it off and left with the crazy sides like a lot of you guys.
I’m 25 now, and have been away from propecia for 2 years.

I live a very very healthy life style, eat very clean, lift/cardio 6 times a week, I quit smoking completely 8 months ago (after 9 years of smoking), and I actually have recovered from most of the sides except for the sexual one.
I don’t have brain fog anymore, I do have bad memory which I always have had, my skin looks good, and I look very young for my age, have no wrinkles, and look very healthy in general.
I don’t FEEL very healthy because of my ED. I lost so much sensation in my penis, and it has days where it’s better and days where it’s worse.

I feel like going back to smoking and just quitting this healthy lifestyle. I don’t feel healthy without a healthy sex life, and it really is draining me.
My blood work is normal, I am very fertile, but I cannot have a proper sex life.

I know it’s stupid, but does anyone else feel this way?

I recently quit smoking. I know for me it made me feel a lot worse in general. I haven’t drank I a year and a half. I dont plan on smoking again. It almost immediately made me feel worse sexually and physically.

Do you think the healthy lifestyle helped you get over the non sexual sides you did have?

If you only have ED left then maybe you could continue what you are doing and add in cycling T boosting supplements like in the cdnuts recovery and see if that works?

Possibly.
I used to have horrible brain fog, etc, lost focus.
I cleaned out my diet completely, starting hitting the gym often, drink very rarely, and I am certain that other than the ED I am exactly the same as I used to be before.
I have no morning erection usually, but my test levels are normal.
I haven’t had blood tests in 3 months, and i’m going back next week to check again.
You think T boosting sups can help?

I have read some people also complain about wrinkles, losing fat on the face and such things, I haven’t noticed anything of the sort.
TBH if anything FIN made me even younger looking. Though that very likely could be the effect of living a healthier life style.

I am going to continue doing this, though it can be hard sometimes to stay motivated, in hopes that it could all reverse and go back to normal…

I feel this too. Alcohol and bad diet are my comfort in this pain. If a healthy diet and lifestyle won’t help, then what’s the point? I guess we can try other avenues, such as working on a healthy gut and fasts etc. but I’m feeling a bit hopeless too.

Buddy, you’re on the right track, soon you will have better days, I also for 2 years had bad days and good ones, the fact that it is flip flopping is a great sign! Hang in there !!

Best thing to do is apply to participate in the studies at Baylor & BWH. This way, you could contribute to discovering the reasons why people have PFS.

Without this, there can be no progress. It will not be possible for a large number of men to see any type of treatment without the research getting done first.

Putting yourself forward for scientific research at elite US medical institutions, with highly qualified doctors, with expertise in sexual functioning - this is a real investment. Putting time and money into “gut cleansing”, “liver flushing” and “parasites” - this is not.

Make the smart choice.

Gelhead, I applied for the study in February but I was put off by this in the email I received back:

Please be aware that the bulk of the costs associated with this study (i.e. clinic visit, majority of blood work, penile ultrasound, and biothesiometry) will be billed to your insurance or will be your responsibility in the event you do not have insurance.

I’ve no idea how much that would cost, but I’m sure it wouldn’t be cheap. Then I’d have to fund flights and hotel? It’s just not something I can afford. It’s a shame but I’m lucky to have PFS and hold a job down at all, let alone enough money at my disposal to fly to America from UK and pay private medical costs. I’m sure this is a big reason why there aren’t enough people for the study, not that I blame anyone in particular.

Perhaps the Foundation may be able to help with this. You should PM Awor, or contact The Foundation directly to express your interest in the studies, further stating your financial limitations. Don’t just give up at the first hurdle.

I advise you all waterfast for a few weeks, its hard as hell, but it works and its a one off thing. I water fasted back in january for 11 days, and afterwards my erection quality was permanently improved (not as good as in the old days, but better than before, my EQ would have been even better had I fasted for a longer period of time, but I couldn’t because of other obligations), not only that but my erection quality was still improved in spite of returning to a “bad” lifestyle, which included regularly smoking, drinking every weekend, and eating nothing but junkfood. So yes, in my opinion, trying to live and eat healthy will get us nowhere, what really matters is water fasting, thats the only thing that has ever gotten me permanent, lasting results.

What about libido? It’s pointless having good erections with low libido. Might as well just take viagra in that case.

This is a good start on this.
