How long until recovery after quitting?

Hello
First, sorry for my english. I’ve try to ask my question in some of french forum but there were not enought testimony.
My story :
April 15 : start of the propecia. After one week : headaches, cough, not of possible erection, muscular pains. I stop it. Some day after, everything was OK.
May 1 : I start again propecia. I take a half every two days.
May 15 : I feel a fall of the libido nevertheless but I continue.
May 30 : A half every day.
June 15 : Separately the libido which is low, all is ok, I take a whole propecia every day.
June 30 : Always a very bad libido
July 15 : I met my girlfriends. No erection :’( . I stop propecia
July 20 - 30 : The libido returns satisfactorily
From August 1 to Currently : Libido is more bad than July 20, and very more bad then before April (before propecia…). Some day it’s ok, some day not…

question: After 3 months of catches, is it normal that the side effects are still also present?

Read the FAQs at the top of this site, specifically SECTION 6:

"If you just quit Finasteride, give it a few months to allow your body to recover on its own before you assess your next steps. The vast majority of men recover without issue after quitting the drug, so there’s no need to panic at this stage!

Since it can take a minimum of one week for DHT levels to return nearly to baseline after a single dose of Finasteride, and due to the very slow off rate of the 5AR-II enzyme (~ 30 days), watch for the feeling of DHT returning to your body approximately 1-2weeks/a month after your last pill, and correspondingly the waning of side effects experienced while on the drug.

On the other hand – if you do recover to your pre-Finasteride state, only to find it short-lived (a few weeks/months at most, followed by the return of side effects in full force), then you may want to consider bloodtests to see what is happening with your body via a full hormone profile."

Sounds like that might be what is happening to you, it’s a common theme for some of us – we recover briefly 2 weeks after quitting the drug, only to find our recovery doesn’t last and we end up worse than before. But things may improve over the coming weeks/months so you never know.

I’d get blood tests ASAP as outlined here: propeciahelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=92

Check your Testosterone levels.

Looks like my highschool french may come in handy after all, lol

Salut,

Mew.

This is the same exact thing that happened to me! I think discontinuing and starting again was a very bad idea…

Mew: thanks a lot. Sorry I didn’t find the FAQ. I think I will wait some week (month…) and I 'll speak with my doctor if it’s not ok after that time.
And thanks for the post in french

Big softie: Are you now completely “restore”? If well, how many time did it take?

Unfortunately I still haven’t recovered. I have gotten a little better, and I think I am getting better bit by bit, but it is painstakingly slow, my best advice is probably to not masturbate at all if you can.

.

Disagree – if you are not getting nocturnal, spontaneous or morning erections, you are not providing your penis with a constant supply of fresh oxygenated bloodflow to prevent possible tissue fibrosis and collagen deposits – as evidenced in the studies on men who suffer ED after radical prostatectomy (see “Sexual Side Effects” section).

If you can keep your plumbing working, even if it requires manual help or the aid of some viagra or L-arginine before bed, it is better for the penis then getting no such bloodflow at all and constantly having it remain in a flaccid state.

just like to point out that not getting morning erection do not mean u dont have erection during night. if i wake up early i have them, when i sleep late i dont have them when waking up…

wanna knowm, put a stamp or something on there b4 u goto bed, if its broken when waking up meant it was up during the night.
