How did you react to amino acid supplement?

Did anyone here take an amino acid supplement? If so… how did you react? Positively, negatively, or no change? Also… if you are in the numbness category or peyroines category… did it make it worse?

no change in any symptoms for me, personally. but i took it only a short time.

I used to take bcaa’s all the time. Everytime I try to take any now I just get really depressed for a day. From what I’ve read they can lower dopamine levels.

I took a slew of amino acids for a while. Both in pill form and in this whey protein powder stuff I would drink after a workout. It has massive amounts of nearly every amino acid there is. Didn’t notice much difference.

They make me tired.

Just L-Tyrosine and L-Theanine, tried 5-HTP (well, not pure stuff, an animal extract). I def try not to use these chronically. Never use any of these supplement all the time, sporadically is best with space between the days.

L-Theanine has a mild calming effect (actually its more akin to uh being able to focus on thing in vicinity without focusing on exterior stuff around the spot of focus / in sidelines of eyesight. it’s been awhile that i’ve been using it so i can’t confirm it + it’s mild effect)

5-HTP effectively keeps me awake with racing thoughts if I use it in any part of the day. It’s weird. I haven’t tried experimenting with it much since I like to sleep well all the time, you know.

L-Tyrosine… now, this is a real good one. I can avoid brain fog post-masturbation or eating (or partially even hypoglycemic episodes) with it, though to do it completely i need to take 1000mg instead of 500. Still, it’s really good and I’m betting on constant lack of (l-)dopamine, possibly due to adrenal fatigue (which doctor confirmed in me + obvious symptons).
The methylation thing tho might put an interesting spin on l-tyrosine tho…

I took a custom formulation of amino acids from a company called Metabolic Maintenance. I felt improvements when I took it with Naltrexone and liquid B12. It’s probably the only thing I’ve tried that seemed to help with numbness. But at the time I didn’t feel like the improvements were significant enough to justify the $250/month cost. Perhaps it’s due to reconsider that now that I’ve tried a few other things.

I’ve also taken L-tyrosine and L-phenylalanine. Sometimes I’d feel a bit more alert, other times I’d feel overstimulated and anxious.
