My Story:
-
I’m Currently 2 months passed the age of 33, and really suffering with ED.
-
IT ALL STARTED not even one month passed the age of 32 in 07, when receiving a hair transplant by a well known medical facility. This was in the first week of April.
-
During the few consultations I plead with the doctor, “is it necessary to get on Propecia, since I’ve already lost all my hair on the top and crown?” I was concerned about taking pills for the rest of my life.
-
He was very adamant about me taking the pills, he said I would lose the hair on my sides. This was ridiculous because I was already a 6 or 7 on the balding chart, doesn’t get worst. The sides don’t recede much more when you have that perfect horseshoe shape, the U.
-
As I keep pressing the discussion, even when I go in to make the first deposit for the procedure I remember he telling me, in a very callous manner, “It’s not a deal breaker”, hence my user name. I was really flabbergasted, but I didn’t show it or say anything.
-
He was mixing my concerns for my health with his profits to be made with the transplant. Made me feel like we were playing a sport or something. It sounded almost as if in his mind it would be a deal breaker, at least in the way he responded to my concerns. I really didn’t appreciate him telling it to me as he did, “it’s not a deal breaker” almost as bad as if he said it is a deal breaker. He didn’t heed onto my not wanting to take them. I agreed to take the pills because I thought my transplant would be more of a success with than without, according to his manner of explanation.
-
So I took them (120 pills) almost 4 months worth just to make sure the transplanted hairs took place well. They even gave me my first months worth for free, trying to hook me in. Was planning to drop them eventually.
-
He never spoke to me about the possible side effects, and when I asked if I should have some tests taken first to make sure I don’t have any predispositions or ailments which might become worst with Propecia, such as the prostate or anything, I was told no I didn’t need to have any taken. I thought well just several months earlier my Doctor had given me a clean bill of health with the routine check up I did, probably included cholesterol , blood pressure, I even think a thyroid test, an earlier instructor had told me to have that tested for a skin issue I have. On my part I actually tried to help myself and prevent what actually happened to me next with the side effects of the Propecia pills.
-
I call in to the hair transplant office to advise them of my side effects between the third and fourth months: Swelling of my face, swelling on both sides of the area between my neck and shoulders. I contributed the swelling especially on the face, due to the hair procedure, but probably is not so. Side note :I should note only a month into the drugs, I had a hard time maintaining a hard erection while with a female I recalled this only recently as I thought back. Plus just in my neighborhood there were two guys plus myself who noticed the ED due to Propecia. I think that says alot in regards to the 2% they say who have the side effects. To me that means 100% of the people who I knew who lived in my area, were affected by the side effect…this may be taken as a laughing point. This is not anything solid but thought Id mention it as it is true.
-
My main concern that I called in about, of course, was the penis being softer than it would be normally, mainly at the tip (the head), thin semen and trickling of urine after I would urinate.
-
He recommended, via his personnel, to ease of the pills by taking one pill every other day, I did this for the last week or so. Previously I was on 1 mg per day. This had no effect. So I never dared to even unseal my next 90 day supply, which I still have.
-
The next time I called in I was able to speak directly with the doctor. I told him my erection issue, and he asks me well does interfere with intercourse or does it… I was like what do you mean? I m having a weak penis. What does it matter if it or how much interference it is causing. It is causing something bad which is all that counts.
-
Sooooo….It is May 15, today, the semen has become better, tricking seems to have subsided. The hair which I lost on my calves which I noticed a month or so ago has come back. I’m usually well fit body type, typically with belly, but now I cant seem to work the belly off.
-
But my penis this whole week has been the worst ever in 10 months after quiting propecia. Im hoping it’s the two light beers I had Sunday night and 100 mg of zinc I was taking for a week or so, as recommended by Dr Shippen for only two weeks, via posters here, and I did take multivitamins to include copper and some other supplements. I also remember doing the dear treatment once with the 81 rubs at the pelvis while holding the scrotum. Before this week I also have been squeezing my muscles in that area hard to get some reaction, hoping that’s what caused my worst week ever, being this one.
-
But previous to this week my penis would get hard all over except the head, if I masterbated, not during sex very well though. But recently especially this week I don’t even get that hard. Honestly my reflex to the area is like 5 % I could hardly move it on its own. I get morning woods, though soft and temp, this morning it lasted a good while, didn’t notice having to piss either
-
I had tests done in December before Christmas about five months after quiting the drug. Here are the results by blood spot taken between 1-3 pm:
1)Estradiol 55 range being 12-56
2)Progesterone 0.1 range < 0.1-0.8
3) Testosterone 292 L range 400-1200
4) SHBG 19 range 15- 50
5) Ratio T/SHBG 0.5 L range 0.7-1
Any and all advice is welcome and will be much appreciated.
Best wishes to you all, I appreciate how many of you do lots of research for us…keep up the good work…lets get healthy…
I havent tried juicing carrots post Propecia, but know they would make me rock hard before messing with Propecia, probably will do so soon.
