Help - quit drug after 1 month, pain in testes

Ok. Im a 27 yr old male and after my doctor’s appointment regarding me balding state, he prescribed propecia. I read up on it online and it seemed like a wonder drug.

This was on april 18 (less than a month ago). I have taken 12 pills so far. and my testicles started acting up. Pain, mildly unresponsive to sex or sexual acts, very worrisome ejaculations. And I have never felt like this in my life!

I have stopped taking it about 4 days ago, but the pain refuses to go away (even as I am writing this). It is not mindbnumbing, but its bothersome.

I am worried this pain will never go away. I need to know if there are any short term propecia users who recovered from this? I dont need to know what the stats are. Believe me I have exhausted myself reading up on this (i didnt know there were so many people affected by this). I need to know your personal story. I can make my own assumptions from there on.

I thought hairloss was a worry. Man, the pain is the worst. I feel I am taking the drug to give myself cancer and the hairgrowth is just a side effect.

The pain should subside with time, likely in a week or two, but may flare up on occasion in the future.

Since the drug upregulates testosterone production, the likely reason for the pain is because your nuts have been in overdrive pumping out extra T, basically. Since you have discontinued the medication, things should calm down as DHT returns, and T levels return to normal over the next few weeks.

Hopefully you will have no further issues, in the meantime I’d recommend getting your bloodtested as outlined at top of Hormones section of this site, to see what effect Finasteride was having on your endocrine system, to compare against should you have ongoing issues (ie, should T drop into the toilet).

sorry for the duplicate post! I frankly forgot I made a profile here. Ive frantically posted a number of posts (whenever the pain in my nuts start  )
and forgot about this one.

Why are you posting the same story under 2 different usernames from the same Comcast IP range?

hi guys,

when i got my sexual problems, i was looking for some inspiration in “recoveries”. i hope my story will inspire you .

now, 2 weeks back i took fanisteride 1 mg for 5 days. from the 5th day i had some vibration/spring feeling & some pain in my testicles. i stopped taking that medicine. in 2-3 days all my problem was gone. the next day( 4th day after quitting) i masturbated 3 times in 2 days.

i am feeling much better now.

thanks for all your help. this forum is the best, it showed me light. hope you all will get better soon.

thanks for help once again

I don’t want to sound corney but this forum is such a brotherhood it seems. We all seem to be so supportive and it really helps. I’m still in the worry stage but I’m crossing my fingers that everything will work out. Its really had an impact on my academic performance at university. I need to get it together so I can do my placement because my attention span is SHOT!!!
