Headaches / Vision Problems

Hey Guys,

Has anyone gotten headaches after quitting and not had vision problems? Or had the headaches and tested normal CSF pressure?

I’ve been off for 13 days now after 23 days of taking the drug. My vision seems a tiny bit blurrier and I’m light sensitive. I’m pretty concerned about these headaches leading to further vision issues. What is the procedure for lowering CSF pressure? If drugs, how sketchy are they? I’m hoping to jump on this now before it escalates.

Also, How would any of you go about convincing a doctor that you need a spinal tap to test for CSF pressure when you’re complaining of headaches? Seems like they will write me off… I’m going in tomorrow.

I’m determined to recover from my many symptoms however long it takes.

Have you read through this thread?

You don’t need a spinal tap because my CSF pressure decreased back to normal once I got off propecia. My headaches have completely gone away, although it took a few months. I think another member on this board had the headaches as well, but they also went away. Man, as long as you’re not having reading problems, then you’re in good shape with vision. My vision hasn’t gotten better since quitting propecia, but thankfully it hasn’t gotten worse either.

Also, my neurologist gave me a list of foods to stop eating to help with the mental fog. Quit all breads (noodles, bread, etc.), baked goods, yogurt, cheese, sugar substitutes, foods with added sugar, alcohol, caffeine (this was the hardest to quit), fruit juices, peanuts and peanut butter… so basically eat nothing but salads and proteins. I’m telling you, the mental fog went away in three days. And it’s easy to stay true to this diet when you feel so much better. Plus, you’ll lose weight… not sure if that’s an issue for you.

Plus, my neurologist also prescribed me Propranalol, and my anxiety has completely gone away. It’s amazing. Plus, it’s a medication to lower your blood pressure, so it actually has beneficial side effects. It’s not like Xanax, and has no effect on your mood other than to just chill you out.

Anyway, sorry to hear about your problems, but you stopped at the right time.

Hi, I just started posting on here and have been trying to read through all the posts and gain as much info as i can to help my situation so I hope im responding to the right post for my issue…

I have had a constant headache/ fog for a couple weeks now. i started taking propfoecia 3 weeks ago, and am also on an anti depressant but havent found much info to back up the head ache being a result of the ssri. It is not like a normal headache though. I am wondering if it is the same as what others are experiencing. The headaches that i have had in the past are throbbing and usual hurt most at the front/temple of my head whereas this has been a constant pressure in the side/back of my head and its almost like i can feel it in my eyes but it doesnt “hurt” its just uncomfortalbe. The uncomfort is not incompacitating like a migraine but its so uncomfortable and feels like my head is just clouded with nothingness and i have withdrawn myself significantly from all social activities as a result.

Is this the feeling that you guys are talking about? Or should I be worried that it is something else? Thanks guys.

Interesting.

My headaches or head-pressures go away when I lie down or when sleeping (greatly diminished when getting up to take a nightly piss after waking up). They come back in full force when I wake up in the morning, and later standing or sitting down. Not sure what to say other than they are very real and uncomfortable. Still around for 9 months + and counting off drug…

I think there is a direct connection with the motor neurons in the spine, circulation, and blood vessels inflammed or trying to recover from damage.

I also heard from one of my doctors(his opinion) that we are not getting enough blood flow to the brain, normalized patterns of central nervous system and sympathetic nervous system communication, which leads to brain fog and headaches.

The spinal chord, cns, and sympatheic nervous system, might be a big clue as to what might be happening to us post-fin. I think it’s a problem with circulation and motor neuron/nerve damage.

God help us all.

Good news is that we will recover with time!

Drinking blueberry with bilberry tea is great for probable nerve damage recovery+ Magnesium.

robertino totti,

How long have you been off P? I ha lot of the symptoms guys are talking about in this thread. I had the brain fog, eye senstivity to light and wind, head pressure like a sinus headache and memory problems

The brain fog and sinus headaches went away within a few weeks of when I quit p. The eye sesativity was coming and going until I started taking L-Tyrosine. It’s an amino acid that raises dopamine and lowers prolactin. It swear by it and felt positive effects almost immediately from it.

The day I took it, I felt mentally sharper and more alert within hours. I have not had one incident of sensativity to light or wind either. I would suggest trying it. It’s safe and inexpensive.

Also, you might want to have an x-ray done of your hard-pallette in the roof of your mouth. The Pituitary gland is located just above it. Often many of the problems such as headaches and vision issues can be caused from a pituitary tumer. Don’t be overly alarmed, although it’s certainly something you don’t want, these types of tumers are almost always benign.

does propranalol gives addiction?
