Has the recent hard work by members paid of in terms of attracting new doctors?

Its been a while since Ive read about new docs becoming interested in our situation and, with the MEDIA AWARENESS buzzing at present, I was wondering if any have been in contact to share theories or support. If there have been post about this, please link…I have only been reading drips and drabs recently. Cheers.

I think it’s too early to tell. Right now, there could be meeting going on at the endocrinology department of a major university to discuss research into PFS. Dr. Irwig told me that’s likely to happen. We’ll have to wait for an announcement for subject recruitment.

The discussion is like to happen or the research is likely to happen?

We need more researchers not doctors. As with alot of the guys who have been here for years I’m very skeptical when it comes to rumors of new projects. I’ve seen too many proposed and never happen. I don’t count on them until they are actually underway. I hope we pick up a few more research institutions of the same caliber we have now working together.

Two friends of mine in medical school said that Dr. Irwig’s recent article (about following up on the sexual side effects) was summarized on the top of an AMA email (American Medical Association) that reaches a large portion of the nation’s doctors. I don’t know about the wider impact of this email, but the newsletter is respectable and should certainly work to improve public awareness among doctors in the US.

Both. Scientists need to discuss it with each other before the research takes places. And just because they discuss research doesn’t always mean it comes to fruition.

Does anyone here have a good grasp, or even some grasp, on the current studies going on? I guess it seemed to me like Irwig’s study might have forced other studies on the back burner. Is this true, or is the work in Italy still going on? Anything anywhere else? Thanks.

Yeah the Italian stuff is going on still. Unfortunately I have been told not to expect hard results for awhile.
