I’m back on HCG and testosterone/dht…really because I am bereft of ideas. . . .has anyone had an instance of success of HCG. I had somewhat of a surge when first taking it…
I have noticed with the t-dht that my hair starts to fray a bit around the hairline almost instantly…whether that sign is good bad or indifferent who knows
finally: does HCG cause penile shrinkage? is there anything that doesn’t?
Hey
One user from the old Yahoo group, JN, seemed to recover using a combination of T shots, HCG, and Proviron.
Another, ArmyGuy, seemed to recover by using a combination of T shots, T-gel, HCG and Arimidex.
How long have you been back on, and what have you noticed beyond the initial surge after injecting HCG? Any improvement in libido or erections? How about energy, mood, brain fog?
Is your penis shrinking when you inject HCG? Or are you just asking?
My understanding of HCG is that it acts as an LH analogue, signalling the testes to produce more testosterone. With an increase in testosterone comes an increase in estrogen. All being well, the increase in T will more than offset the increase in E, and you should feel all the benefits of increased T, including good condition of the penis.
If you’re finding that your penis is shrinking when you inject the HCG (or the T for that matter), this is a sign that you are not responding to T well enough to offset the increase in E. So basically, all you feel is the effects of increased E: chest pain, bloated feeling, penis shrinkage, hot flashes. That’s a pretty common response to TRT post-finasteride.
I’d say that hair falling out is a sign that your body is responding to the androgens you’re putting into it, which can only be a good thing. If your hair is falling out but your penis is shrinking, that is a really mixed up response. Then again, nothing surprises me anymore.
Good luck.
hey, sm,
thanks for reply, sorry if it takes me a bit to post Im always back and forth. I went back on HCG after about 2 months off, and partly just to feel like I’m doing something. (and because when I am just au natural i feel fairly crappy most of the time) I quit it the first time just because it doesn’t help in that miraculous, horny all the time I’m cured fashion which I think we’re looking for. I get a little miffed at dr.'s playing mad scientist and talking about percentages of recovery. I think a healthy libido which we all want to return to, is one that you don’t think about that leaves you free to pursue your life.
As for shrinkage, I’m perplexed, because I noticed when I went off everything that it seemed to get to a point of reasonable return. I think part of the problem is it’s hard to know what normal is anymore. I think a certain range of fluctuation is normal but. . . I do feel a bit like I’m throwing everything for a loop starting and stopping these things, but really I’m just trying to go with the best information out currently and hope that science catches up. It’s been nearly eight years for me, and I’m a little sick of feeling like a basket case (or McMurphy from one flew over the cookoo’s nest.) I mean I get to a point where i feel like maybe I am mentally hampered, but then i remember how I used to be, and it just does not add up.
Anyway sometimes i just have to throw a few lines out there to remind myself I’m not the only one.
Incidently, while on topic, did you or anyone catch the item about Manny R. on the Dogers and his having taken HCG for a “personal medical problem.”? they’re accusing him of taking it to mask steroid use. but he’s never been nailed on a drug test previously.
do you think Proviron is something i should ask about next time I see the doc?
take care
Hey
No need to apologise.
Thanks for coming back. I’m not quite clear, though, whether you are having shrinkage when you inject HCG.
So tell me:
Do you find that your penis shrinks in the hours immediately after injecting HCG?
Also:
How long were you on HCG and T/DHT cream last time, before you stopped?
How long have you been back on? Are you back on only HCG, or HCG +T/DHT?
What changes are you noticing? Any libido improvement at all? Better erections? More energy? I’m guessing you feel some postive change on HCG, or you wouldn’t bother to get back on it?
I guess we all dream about a 100% recovery, but any improvement is better than nothing.
I’m in the UK, so afraid I don’t know anything about that guy. But I think the most commond reason doctors prescribe HCG to men is to boost sperm count.
As for Proviron, I’d say it can’t hurt to try it given that you’re already supplementing with androgens. You could take it for a couple of weeks and see how you go. Obviously talk to your doctor about how to combine it with the treatments you’re already on.
sm,
the shrinkage seemed to occur over the first week of being back on HCG. It seems now to have levled out, perhaps as my body is getting used to the treatment again.
the changes I notice (at least a first )are a bit more energy (I’m back on T’DHT too, by the way (less dosage than i was taking(it’s a cream with a ML syringe you apply directly to the penis I use 3ml 5 days a week) and a diminishing of the chronic anxiety. I took it for around four months last time. The main reason I came off was i am leary of taking these things in perpetuity (as i guess i really should have been about Propecia) however, i really need to feel I’m at least pursuing treatment, or i become morbid about the situation.
One interesting note is that, as i was coming off HcG at the end of last winter…I was playing hockey, and i came back to the dressing room to find my penis had retracted into my abdomen, now that is scary! I attributed it to the lack of the T it had gotten used to, of course i’m hyper aware of my physiology these days and a bit paranoid…but still…jeez!
I was always confident in my bodies ability to heal itself, so it is really a hard thing to go off meds, eat well, and take care of yourself and still find that you haven;'t come back.
Manny Ramirez is a baseball player. I guess I was sort of tacitly hoping that someone of sufficient visibility would be suffering from our affliction and bring it into the light (not the nicest thing to wish but…) also, the condition post roids seem so similar that it is odd that we who haven’t taken as much messed up stuff as they have seem less able to recover.
You are right I supposse about any returns being positive i think largely i still blame myself for not recognizing how good i had it, but that’s easy to do.
stiff upper lip…

too much hcg can desensitize your leydig cells and cause testicular failure…im sure ur aware of that but just confirming.
also too much lh in system (natural or induced) can convert to estradiol.
just a thought
acutally rockin, I was not aware of that. My biggest fear is that i’ll do more damage to myself. Yet, in spite all this and the dire consequences, it is still hard for me to really wrap my mind around the science involved and the delicate nuiance of what is causing what. I’m back on the HCG (do you have any info about the effects of taking it long term? Shippen does not seem to worried about it) and the testosterone-dht-dhea cream he cooked up for me. I’ve been taking l-glutamine as well…
just for my info where do you come down on all of this? I am sort of of the opinion that if we fixed the neurological aspect then the other levels and organs would come back of their own. That is my resolutely un-expert opinion, but i have always felt that these problems generated in the brain. Testosterone replacment seems like a stop-gap and not a real fix.
If you’re taking the HCG according to Shippen’s instructions you should be fine.
I presume he’s prescribed a schedule of low dose HCG injections, like 200-400 units for a few days a week?
It’s the really large doses of HCG that are known to cause leydig cell desensitisation. Like, 5000units +.
