This was one of the suggestions made by a new doc I recently visited. He also suggested Testopel (a steady release caplsule they stick into your butt.) That and he mentioned the anti-estrogen riddex(sp?). I don’t think I want a testosterone pelet implant. But the pituitary thing sounds interesting possibly informative.
The MRI is something that most doctors who are uniformed about Propecia side effects will request. I had one and my results showed that it my pitutary was fine. I’d still go for it unless its very expensive. You aren’t likely to find anything…
Hey Wdderbell2
Yeah I’d agree with Labrea; plenty of people on the forum have had MRIs of the pituitary and nothing has been found. It’s an obvious thought for an endo, because pituitary tumours are one of the causes of hormonal problems in young men. But the post-finasteride syndrome isn’t about pituitary tumours.
Are you still taking the T/DHT cream and hCG? How are you doing on that?
It sounds as though the anti-estrogen might have been Arimidex? That might be useful if you have high estrogen, or you’re experiencing estrogenic effects from the T/DHT cream and hCG injections.
Thanks guys. I figured these areas had probably already been well covered. Don’t know if I’m going to sign up for the MRI immediately. Little tired of feeling like a pin cushin, lab rat, plus hate staying still in that tube for extended periods.
No hcg, a little testosterone. Was taking bruproprion which seemed to help, but as with all the meds don’t like the idea of being on them forever.
i had brain mri and nothing was found…
What is your testosterone dose? Is it helping with energy, mood, libido, erections, etc?
If T helps, then getting on T and hCG and staying on might be your best bet.
I am 55 yrs old and started taking Propecia about 6 months ago. I developed what doctors thought was a “thyroid problem” given I had all of the symptoms of an underactive thyroid (no energy, etc) and they put me on thyroid replacement (synthroid). They suggested that I get my pituitary gland checked which I did. Its size increased by about 1 CM. The doc suggested that I get it checked in another year as there was no reason for it to increase. Was it the Propecia? I do not know - nor does the doc. But maybe. But I no longer take any synthroid for the thyroid functioning.
