Gyno question.

So, I got off Propecia two months ago after a year and a half, my sides weren’t terrible, but I got redistribution of fat around my jawline, chest, front and sides of my abdomen. I definitely have some nipple puffiness that’s noticeable to me, but when I pinch the nipple I don’t feel any hard lumps nor does my chest feel itchy or painful. However, the puffiness hasn’t subsided in the two months since I quit.

I will not be able to get blood tests done until Spring Break (March 10) at earliest, and probably not until summer. In the meantime, since I’m not sure if I have full-blown gyno or just more fat on my chest, what should my first course of action be? I am planning on doing a lot of cardio to see if the fat comes off, and possibly taking a DIM supplement for hormonal balance, good ideas? What else do you guys suggest?

Thanks for any help, I really want to nip this problem in the bud now and not lose any ground when I could be taking positive steps.

Besides your suggestions, see a doctor, get an ultrasound done to check for hardened tissues. If you are really concerned, get a tissue biopsy done.

How to counteract? Short of hoping it goes away, if it is in fact true gyno, and has hardened into fatty tissue, you would likely requier surgery to remove it (or Tamoxifen to try and counter puffy nipples, if you have high E2).

Thanks, you seem to be quite the expert. I am wondering if this hasn’t gone away after two months, is there still a chance that my body is still in the recovery process and it will eventually go away? I know everyone’s different and a lot of people here have quit with no reduction in sides, but I want to know if there is at least a hope that this is reversible since I caught it before it got too bad? I haven’t really been able to find a satisfactory answer to that yet.

For the most part, gyno tissue that has hardened is irreversible unless removed. Wether your body is capable of “recovering” within 2 months or will recover further from gyno, I don’t know. But it is one of the most persistent physical changes that can occur to guys that take the drug.

Thanks for the help, I have a few more questions though. Sorry, I am new to all of this and am finding it difficult to find time to browse the entire forum for the specific answers I need.

First, when I was on fin I didn’t really notice the side effects, no loss of libido, etc, although when I look at pics of myself while on it I can tell I was gaining weight. Now that I’ve been off for two months, I feel like the side effects are getting worse, but I really only noticed the sexual sides (lack of feeling, no morning wood, low sperm output) after looking at this forum. Do some people actually not get bad sides while on fin but notice them much more when they quit, and what does this generally mean about what’s going on? Low testosterone and high estrogen from the body crashing?

Second, I know a lot of these sides are due to the imbalance of hormones that fin causes, so until I can get my blood work and talk to a doctor (which should be around March 12), I want to change my diet, lifestyle and supplement intake to get me on the right track. So I’ve started taking DIM-Plus from Nature’s Way and am thinking about taking Zinc supplements, is this a good idea? I have heard about some users employing Post Cycle Treatment like steroid users do to prevent crashes, is this recommended for someone in my condition? Also, can any of these hormone-altering substances like DIM actually do more harm than good?
