I have been impotent for 8 years and have little or no sex drive/libido.
I have been fully checked out hormonally and I am in the ‘normal’ range. All glands working fine. No answers could be given for these problems.

I have just been prescribed Finasteride PROSCAR 5mg tablets to help shrink my enlarged prostate which is the cause of my urinary incontinence problems.
A full set of ‘bloods’ show no cancer and an abstention from penetrative sex have ruled out any other reason for enlarged prostate.

The main side effects of Finasteride PROSCAR 5mg I am hearing about are impotence and loss of sex drive/libido. As I already suffer from these I am not too concerned. My worry is that I am going to develop breasts!!!

How long would I be on these tablets before I start to experience breast enlargement? I have been told I may need the tablets for up to six months to reduce the size of my prostate. Will I look like bloody Jordan/Katey Price in that time or will it be no more than ‘man-boobs’ seen on an overweight man??

what is the reason for being impotent?
have you done your cystoscopy to know if your prostate is enlarged? or proved other wise?
I would suggest to discuss flomax with your doctor. Fin is too nasty.

Nobody can awnser this question for you. Its very individual how ppl react to putting chemicals in your body. I even grow muscle on propecia whilst other lost theirs and got gyno. Some exp sideeffects after even a couple of pills some take it for years and develop sides when they have been on the drug for a very long time.

There are other concearns except gyno you should think about if you are considering this drug. Constant fatigue and brainfog for instance. They are 2 major life altering sideeffects that could happen to you if you are unlucky. Do you really want to gamble?

Talk with your doctor about other drugs for the intended purpose. Propecia is poison!

I was led to believe I would not be on Propcia but on Proscar. I thought there was a difference as I was not being treated for hair loss???

They cannot find a reason for my Impotence other than Pysco-sexual reasons because I am passive/sub homosexual and have never needed an erection for penertration. (Although I was erectile perfect until 41 years old!!??)

I have had an Anal speculum shoved up my arse and stretched wide :smiley:
enough for for fingers, tubes, cameras and God knows what else up there to confirm without doubt that I have an enlarged prostate. :frowning:

The only difference is that proscar is 5x bigger dose. 5mg instead of 1mg that propecia contains.

Thats not a possitive thing…
