Don’t take prednisone ever. It causes almost all the side effects as fin does.
Please read the following link. I also read that it causes shrinkage of testicles, penis and loss of libido but right now I dont have link to prove this. but the link below shows almost all we have, like Swelling of the face,Stomach problems,Mood changes,Insomnia,Weakness of muscles,Interruption of the menstrual cycle; periods may stop altogether

The question is why?
Let us see it is molecular structure which look almost exactly like finasteride

and here is finestaride

Does this molecular similarity disproves my molecular mimicry theory viewtopic.php?f=27&t=5589&start=220 or maybe prednisone is 5 Alpha reductase inhibitor too.
some website suggest we should withdraw prednisone slowly otherwise will cause withdrawl effects, will affect adrenal, which alot of people are talking here.
"Side Effects
The side effects include adrenal suppression, which can occur with period of seven days. Adrenal suppression refers to the body’s inability to synthesize natural corticosteroids, resulting in a dependency on it. This is why doctors do not recommend the cessation when the patient has taken it for longer than seven days. They reduce the dose gradually over a few days in the case of short-term use, and over weeks or months in the case of long-term treatment. Stopping treatment abruptly can cause the life-threatening Addison’s disease, in which in the body no longer produces sufficient amounts of adrenal steroid hormones."

there is a discussion going on.
I guess this is a question for the guys, have any of you experienced erectile dysfunction while tapering off prednisone? …
and here is another

" Prednisone–the magical drug, you need it but you hate the side effects. I too have become impotent because of the use of prednisone. When I was put on 40mg a day for over a month, alternating after ten days to 40/20, 20/10, etc. the effects were devastating.
Not only did I lose my ability to achieve an erection, but I lost all feeling. The prednisone makes me urinate every hour. Sugar was checked at 87, and it is OK. Then came the cramps. My hands and my feet cramp terribly, and the only solution I found was to drink Gatorade or some similar diet drink with potasium in it to replace all the electrolytes I am losing through excessive urination. Tonic water also is a godsend, as it stops most cramps with a few swigs in a minute or so. But Tonic water has quinine in it, so you have to be careful not to overdo it, as it can cause variations in heart beat. "
Guys must look at sides caused by prednisone maybe we find some thing that can help understand finasteride.
