How do you know, if you’re still able to grow muscle normally?
Go on a training regimine and hit the gym. You’ll know if you’re growing or not just by looking in the mirror.
Unless you know how you use to grow muscle from activity previous to propecia theres no way for you to know!
There are girls out there who gain more muscle from lifting weights than some men do so the normal span is to varying to draw conclusions from.
Can’t it be done by measuring how fast you develop your stamina and strength and stuff?
I think I have never actually seen myself go bigger from gym, but I have certainly used to get stronger and stronger as I trained. That was pre-Propecia of course, because right now I have no money for this stuff with the economic state.
Listen. If you work your muscles correctly, they have no choice but to grow. If you work them and your not growing, maybe you have an issue then. It all depends on how you train. If your doing body weight stuff, you’ll build muscle stamina and some strength. But if you want strength and size, you’ve got to hit the weights with varying rep and set configurations. TUT (Time under tension) That’s what builds muscle.
These are two completely different things. You have to pick your focus.
This could be for a varitey of reasons. Could be your only training for strength. Could be your not eating enough, etc, etc. Again, you have to tet specific. There are countless programs online that you can get for free to help you get big if that is your goal.
Did you bring your Estradiol down. I remember your blood is not that bad except for high Estradiol.
I haven’t got to an endocrinologist yet due to the long waiting lines . The last time I went there with not so much over the border estradiol than the latest one they said that it’s only considered a problem, if the levels are doubled or tripled from the normal. So they sent me away and told me that my little bit over the border high levels aren’t worrisome.
You should be able to tell by density. Fanjeera, because you’re so young it might be difficult to tell. I have a few years of experience beyond this for a baseline. I noticed that I am lighter than I was at 18 because my muscles are not as dense. With density comes elasticity for me.
I can gain some muscle but I am approximately the same size as I was 10 years ago but I’m also lighter due to lack of density. Sometimes this comes back as it did recently when I started taking Vitamin D.
Simple size and amount of weight you can lift is not enough to determine what kind of muscle you are putting on, there are fast twitch muscles, pure strength muscles, etc. They are different types of muscle fiber.
Try to judge what overall shape you’re in. I know I’m not and will never be in pre-fin shape, I’ve had to change the workout routine. However I have progressed a long ways from my shape on fin.
I have put on some weight after Propecia, but I think that’s just fat, because I haven’t done any workout. Density? I think they started feeling even denser after taking finasteride.
Are you working out regularly?
yes, I work out regularly. It has helped me consistently more than anything else.
I don’t think he needs to know what kind of muscle he’s putting on. It’s really irrelevant. He just wants to know “how do you know if you’re growing muscle.” If you’re getting bigger, and you’re getting stronger, you’re growing muscle. It’s not complicated.
The only thing you would need to worry about is the type of training you’re doing. Size doesn’t mean strength, and vice versa. So if you want size, you need to train for size as in a body building routine. If you want strength, there is a way to train for that as well. But if you’re getting both at the same time, you’re on the right track. Any good program will have some aspects of both in it along with endurance exercises as well.
Martin:
If you want density, add in some creatine if you’re not already doing so. You’ll be surprised at the results.
Agreed, to add to what cdnuts said you can also consider whey protein and l-glutamine which are both great training supplements and will help you get the extra calories to bulk up.
Good Luck.
Thanks guys. I am taking Biochem 100% Whey protein, which is an expensive but natural supplement. It definitely helps. I tried creatine once while I was on fin and got very angry and aggressive. Maybe it’s time for another go.
I was just pointing out, perhaps inefficiently, that my body has changed since fin. I work out and I’m better shape than I was coming off. But my muscles have changed. Regardless of the type of exercise I do I can’t seem to build much endurance or fast-twitch muscles, though I have made gains in pure strength moving not iso. It’s the same feeling as the penis and balls not feeling dense or really as firm.
So yeah, some muscles I can gain, but they aren’t the same muscles or gains that I had pre-fin even after 12+ months of hard training.
So you have gained strength, but you’re muscles haven’t thereby started looking bigger?
I have gained some muscles but nowhere near what I should have gained given the amount of weights and exercise and proper diet.
