Great doctors being struck off in the UK, what the hell?

In my search to find a better doctor, preferably on the NHS here in England I have noticed something very saddening. Doctors that are more likely to help with this sort of situation (hormones, thyroid, adrenal issues) to name a few, are being struck off for malpractice. I know I don’t really have the knowledge or right to say, but it’s quite obvious the kind of doctors these are: they don’t go by the nazi like system of the NHS when it comes to these types of issues, and the GMC don’t like it, despite them probably helping people with thyroid, adrenal, prostate, hormone problems more than other doctors, who go off basic test results only and don’t listen to the patients symptoms well enough.

I would of actually asked to be referred straight to Dr Skinner as he is very close, or I would of paid to see him. I’m not saying either of these could help mine/ our situation specifically, but if you look into it (I have only provided basic links) these are the kind of doctors ideal for helping out with these issues.

I found these doctor’s by using google, cities/ areas I am interested in seeing a doctor and using terms like ‘thyroid’ or ‘testosterone’ etc, and before anyone starts saying how dumb this is. It’s what I saw some of the moderators doing over on Crisler’s forum, and it actually seems like a very good way to find doctors, although it probably has it’s limits.

Dr Myhill’s website is actually probably worth a read to many members on this forum, so take a good look.

I’m sorry if this is a bit unclear, but I hope you get the idea. The FIRST TWO doctors I find that look good, are under review by the GMC - what a joke.

According to the latest information on her website Dr. Myhill has NOT been struck off, though the GMC has placed restricitons on her right to prescribe (which is an outrage in itself) and some kind of proceedings are on-going.
Many thanks for this info JOE 91 - I am going to try and get an appointment with Dr Myhill when I next visit the UK. The GMC is an ass.

I know she hasn’t been struck off yet, hopefully she won’t be. The whole ‘stone age diet’ thing she is promoting seems a bit quacky but then again for people with serious deficiencies, allergies or thyroid/ adrenal problems every little thing counts.

She looks like she knows a thing or two about hormones and will have an open mind towards our symptoms. I have contact details for the lab she gets her tests done, I am thinking about paying for a few tests from there if you want to do any testing while your in the UK.

Yes, and this is also true of Dr Peatfield who is still struck off the NHS for treating patients who are hypothyroid or have adrenal insuffieciency, and now practices as a complementary therapist in the field of nutrition.

Here’s what some his patients have to say:

He runs clinics throughout the UK.

I never thought I 'd wish this on another human being but here goes:- I sincerely hope the GMC collectively goes down with permanent adrenal fatigue.

Dr Myhill’s website is quite a good resource, I think it should be bookmarked/ stickied.

There is absolutely nothing “quacky” about a Dr. who is literate in proper human nutrition. It’s actually quite refreshing.
