General Question for newbie about Propecia side effects

New user, started fin about 9 weeks ago and I believe I am experiencing some of the side effects I’ve seen discussed across several different forums. I am a bit confused though now with all the new information that he been coming to light.

My question is: Is it possible for a healthy man to take propecia and not experience side effects at all? Or does everyone experience some level of side effects?

It’s not clear from your story vs your profile if you are still on the drug?

Either way there is no way to predict who will and will not get side effects, it most likely comes down to a genetic predisposition – especially as recent research has revealed androgen receptor CAG repeats can determine Finasteride response. There is even a test you can take before taking the drug to see if you will be a great , average or poor responder in terms of hair growth (hairdx.com).

Not everyone will experience side effects, but there is no way to know if you will fall into the category of men who do get side effects before taking the drug. No test yet exists which can tell you that.

Most people don’t experience side effects at all. Some (more than Merck says as told by a doctor) get side effects stop using the drug and the side effects go away. A several thousand of us world-wide get side effects, come off the drug, side effects get worse and do not go away at all.

You are playing with fire. You may or may not experience side effects from this drug, its up to you to decide if your hair is important enough to you that you will risk having your entire life (not just your sexual life) ruined by this drug. Many people here may even be kind of insulted that you would post here while you are still on the drug, you have to understand there are men here who have lost everything because of finasteride. Its not only your dick that gets fucked up, your mental well being is also at risk.

Everyone here including myself are going to tell you to get off it, its simply just not even remotely worth the risk. If you come off it and are experiencing side effects a month later then by all means come back here and join the miserable club of PFS.
