Frightful Heat Illness E.R. Visit. Burning Skin.

Have any of you gotten severely sick after doing some physical work outdooors in the sun for a short time?

That day, I cut my lawn for only 10mins in mild warm sunny weather and felt fine. Was decent out and not super hot ro anything.

One hour later, while resting, I felt very weak and felt like I was burning up and my skin was hot as hell.
I was weak, dizzy, super hot, very forgetful, normal temp.(was tested) but high blood pressure.
Whatever I did; jumped in the pool to cool off, cold shower, tons of water, nothing helped me cool down!
This lasted for 12 hours straight. I went to the e.r. and could barely understand what the nurses were telling me, I became very dizzy to the point of passing out and honestly felt I was going to die.

Thankfully, this scary episode subsided and I was released. No doubt propecia related. Not a doubt. It was not heat stroke at all. They tested me for heart, blood pressure, and diebetes while at hospital. Fine. The nurse asked if I was having a panic attack? This was no panic attack, but some heat related hellish episode.

Anyone else with anything similar happen to you?

yeah it happens to me all time wit nausea , especally on sunny days. it can be results of lack of sweating.
and sounds like crazy but im dirty all time even if i take shower everday. i dont know why, something on my skin doesnt work anymore.

I had a burning-skin-type of parasthesia that came and went over the course of several weeks. Also went to the ER when it became unbearable. MRIs came back normal. As I recall, this all started after working outdoors in the summer. Visited a neuro who did an EMG … also normal.

Definitely PFS-related.

You said it best – it’s like my sweat glands are broken. The dermatological damage done by finasteride is sorely in need of investigation.

What made this more interesting is, was this a type of thyroid storm, which can kill you 75% of the time?

I had felt my thyroid throbbing initially when the heat illness thing began that day.

I still experience my thyroid throbbing whenever I chew food in my mouth. Digestive enzymes trigger a thyroid response instantly now?

Well, I can tell you this, while undergoing this horrific ordeal last summer; I can recall reclining and resting outdoors on a lawn chair and looking above the pool, and I saw three white doves flying over the pool. I’m a spiritual person and this was a bad sign. I also saw a flash of bright light next to my bed, before the scary ordeal began that day, and my subsequent visit that night to the e.r.

I’ve had blood labs done for thyroid. My doc says my thyroid hormones are fine.

Nerve damage, life threatening thyroid storm? Inability to cool down and temperature regulation in the body is compromised in the hypothalamus/pituitary?

PS I am no lightweight. Before PFS, I used to do road paving for work and landscaping in 90+ hot humid weather. No issues before PFS. Now, I’m weary of the upcoming summer here…
