Foxnews article on epigenetics and homosexuality

foxnews.com/health/2012/12/1 … =obnetwork

If homosexuality is epigenetic and the current idea is that PFS maybe epigenetic, how many people here have concieved children after acquiring PFS and are these children (particularly male children) developing abnormally?

You probably did not mean it, but the way you wrote your post, it seems to be an homossexual is to be abnormal, which is not the case.

I’m not in the business of opinions. Which is exactly what that is.

What I meant was that if PFS can be passed down generation to generation it would concievably have an impact on the physical development of a male child because of the inhibited androgens.

Personally I do not care about homosexuals and this isn’t a forum for political debate. I don’t care if a man wants to fuck a another man as long as they keep to themselves.

Never mind dude… say whatever you want.

Don’t worry I always do.

well, actually, the article that YOU posted clearly states that the new findings in epigenetics indicate that homosexuality is actually NOT an abnormality. that is clearly stated in the article, which ironically is a fox news article.

This is subject to debate, yes. I personally would have a hard time allowing my genes to be passed on, as the entire PFS sickness has indicated to me that I don’t have the best genes in the world. But you are free to procreate as much as you wish. This question has been brought up many times on this forum, and it seems like every guy on here who has conceived after PFS seems to have nothing abnormal to report. You have indicated, however, that you seem to find homosexuality an “abnormality.” Considering the oldest conceived child from a PFS sufferer is likely to be in their teens - you’re probably not going to find out if they turned out gay.

As long as they keep to themselves? Because due to epigenetics, as your article states, they have absolutely no control over this but are still somehow gross and secondary to heterosexual people? That mentality is the equivalent of stating that it is OK for men to suffer from PFS, as long as they keep to themselves.

And you are correct, this is not a forum for political debate. But as long as you are posting politically inflammatory articles and comments, one should have the right to respond, yes?

As a gay man who makes every effort to be sensitive toward peoples ignorance (i.e. i don’t engage in PDA)… your comments are personally very offensive. I don’t want to spur a huge political debate (which would likely result in me finding out how many PFS sufferers who i like to consider buddies are actually homophobes)… I just wanted to say I’m disgusted by how ignorant your comments are.

I don’t have a problem with your lifestyle choices… you are making it into a problem because you all are inclined to take anything and everything that isn’t totally pro-gay as also being anti-gay. Like I said, I don’t give a damn if men want to have sex with eachother but I don’t appreciate the overzealous behavior of most of your persuasion. I am not in the business of gay bashing… I don’t like it when a gay guy at a bar randomly hits on me but I don’t do anything violent to them, i simply inform them i dont swing that way. And yes I have seen gay guys hit on a straight guy and get punched in face for it… of course it was down here in Texas. In NY people were more understanding.

Let me clarify once again what I meant for the record: I was wondering about PHYSICAL DEFORMATIES potentially being caused by a developing child inhereting pfs from their father. I never meant to imply homosexuality is a deformity… yet that it can be something that is epigenetic. Which raises the question about pfs being able to be passed on in the same way.

Ps: I don’t recall seeing you guys bashing Mandi about what she did even thou it “implied” that finasteride caused homosexuality.

While I am glad to hear that you would not resort to violence if a guy were to approach you in a bar - this doesn’t mean you are not a homophobe. Making statements like “i don’t appreciate the overzealous behavior of most of your persuasion” and using phrases like “lifestyle CHOICES” are, however, homophobic in nature and are clear stereotypes. it’s clear you don’t know many gay people because if you did, you would actually understand that oftentimes the majority of them are in no way overzealous. you know - i have no interest in sleeping with a woman, but i love it when they hit on me cuz its flattering when someone thinks you’re attractive no matter who they are.

awesome, thanks for clarifying.

actually, i recall mandi taking some shit. regardless homosexuality and transgender people are two different things. isn’t it clear that our bodies have feminized to some degree? i think that’s why she didn’t have TOO much resistance from PFS community.
