It is with sadness that I share the news that Franz Fuchs (“Foxi”), a long-time member of the PropeciaHelp community, passed away on March 19, 2026, at the age of 62.
He died in his hometown of Konzell, Lower Bavaria, at the foot of the Bavarian Forest. He lived on a farm surrounded by meadows and forests. Until the very end, he continued mowing his meadows and spending nights at his observatory—until he was no longer able to do so and ultimately died from the consequences of Post-Finasteride Syndrome.
He had taken finasteride from 2001 until 2011. In 2011, he developed Post-Finasteride Syndrome (PFS) and, after 15 years of struggling with its symptoms, ultimately lost his battle against them. He died of a heart attack on March 19, 2026. He may be one of the first people known to have died indirectly from the debilitating effects of PFS.
In 2018, he courageously participated in a Swiss Television (SRF) documentary entitled “Hair Loss – Do Anti-Baldness Medications Cause Impotence?”, helping to raise public awareness of the serious and lasting effects reported by some finasteride users.
