Hello everyone! This is my very first post (although I’ve been lurking around this site on and off for the past few months).
First, a bit about myself. I’m 25 and have been taking 1/8 of a generic finasteride pill daily (fincar 5mg) for the last six months and was taking 1/4 daily for the year prior to that. Well, as one could guess by the fact that I’m posting here, I’ve been experiencing many of the most common symptoms discussed on this site (weak, sometimes non-existant erections, lack of libido, pain in my testicles, and a possible shrinking of my penis - if it has shrunken it has not done so by very much, but yet again this could just be due to the fact that I can’t really get rock-hard erections, making my wang appear smaller). Even before taking finasterde I was experiencing a weak libdo and and crappy erections though, and so I think I may have long been suffering from some sort of secondary hypogonadism. (While on fin though it now takes 200mg of viagra to get it up where as 100mg was way more than sufficient before).
In spite of this I still haven’t made the final leap to wean completely of off finasteride yet. I’m going to seek consul from an reputable endocrinologist first and have all the appropriate testing done. Since I don’t think fin has necessarily “caused” my self-diagnosed hypo, merely exacerbated it, I would first like to see if I can’t find some balance of treatment/supplementation would clear up my issues and allow to stay on the medication (and enjoy it’s benefits of HAIR!).
Now, finally, THE PART OF MY POST ABOUT LASER HELMETS. (Sorry about about all that off-topic backstory). A few months ago, I followed the instructions posted on lasermessiah.com and built my own laser helmet. Since I started using it I’ve noticed the following: A marked decrease in the amount of hair I seem to be losing and a much improved cosmetic appearance of my hair (e.g. good hair day after good hair day. the hair on my head finally feels like it’s alive again and has some body/thickness to it). I think I’ve seen some new hair growth has well, but just a few months of treatment is still way too early to tell. For those who are interested in reading about the homegrown laser helmet experiment, the Regrowth.com forums is where everyone is posting about it.
Anyway, I just wanted to put this treatment out there for any ex-propecia users who are looking for something to fill in the void in their hair-loss regimen.
