Checking this site i’ve read that almost every food is dangerous for pfs sufferers. Of course we cannot starve so what food should really be avoided? I mean avoided particularly by who has sexual probleme like ed, fibrosis, shrinkage ecc.
Yeah i think you’re right, people say that all carbohydrates put pressure on your adrenals etc, and that may be true, but we’re all trying to get on with life and we can’t base everything on PFS. But there are a few that always crop up as ones to avoid. Soy comes to mind, it promotes estrogen apparently, i’ve also heard that peppermint and licorice contain dht blockers.
soy actually blocks bad estrogen, but i’ve tried it and it has negative side effects, not sure why.
your going to want to avoid all gluten, sugar, and dairy products. eat only foods that can rot in a few days. do that for like 2 weeks… then try to find triggers to see which foods are good for you or bad for you in your individual situation. everyone is at different stages. get an IgG food anti body test to see what allergies you have, regular food allergy tests don’t cut it.
Most members here seem to do the best with a paleo diet. Avoiding foods that are estrogenic, like soy, or inhibit the 5AR2 enzyme is probably a good idea.
Instead of worrying what to avoid try learning what to eat. Google the paleo diet or buy one of the books out on it. It’s easier to seek thing out that adhere to the dietary philosophy than try to avoid everything that can cause you problems.
Once you’ve got a healthy, steady diet down you can further dial it in by temporarily eliminating foods and reintroducing them.
Diet makes absolutely no difference to me. Today i have drank 8 cups of coffee, loads of white bread with butter and crisps (chips) and i am feeling very good.
sometimes i get the same thing… where i feel really good after eating regular foods. i think i read carbs go to serotonin in the brain… or something happens in the brain when you eat regular foods
however… although i feel good… my penis doesn’t look so good…
wow man… your so lucky that you have crohns disease and food doesn’t affect you at all… that’s pretty crazy since crohn’s means you have inflammation of your digestive tract…
I have noticed I ‘crash’ into bad tiredness about twenty minutes after drinking cola or similar beverages, so try to avoid them. I have read this is linked to the adrenals.
I haven’t really attempted to alter my diet post-fin, bar the odd attempt at the broccoli treatment or more fruits. I may give raw food or paleo the go but I’m not going to change everything in my life to push myself forward 5%, it’s not worth the hassle and my motivation isn’t up to the task. I woud not describe my eating habits as either healthy or unhealthy, just the same as before PFS but maybe eating less - which hasn’t stopped weight gain.
Same with alcohol, I rarely drink at home but will get moderately drunk once a week socialising. Hangovers are harder and last a bit longer but I’m not wiped out for days or intolerant to alcohol generally like some guys posting seem to be.
This is more likely related to insulin alone especially if you’re not very active. Over time drinking cola - and having your body flooded with insulin as a result to counter high blood sugar- can lead to insulin resistance (i.e. diabetes).
