Food Absorbtion/ Over eating

One issue that I continue to have is it seems my body doesn’t properly absorb nutrients from a meal. I still have issues from time to time with overall energy that a healthy meal should provide.

I find myself eating more to try to compensate and provide the energy my body is looking for. My diet is pretty healthy for the most part. I eat a good amount of Fish, lean meats like chicken & turkey, lots of vegetables, fruits, nuts. I haven’t eliminate grains, but reduced the intake.

luckily my metabolism is still fast enought to burn off the additional calories. Are any of you guys finding you are not processing food properly?

I’m sure someone can come up with a theory as to what might be causing this problem, but it’s damn annoying.

One of the things I have been exploring recently is SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth). The human colon should have healthy bacteria (pro-biotic) but the small bowel should be free of bacteria. Bacteria in small intestine can cause malabsorbtion, low in vitamins, belching, bloating, skin issues etc.
What interests me is reading the triggers for SIBO. The primary issues are hormonal changes, birth control pills, PDE5 meds, cortisones etc. With all the playing we have been doing with hormones this is one the very possible scenarios.

yes bostonusa2009. I have all that you describe but with very slow metabolism now.

I still have rapid metabolism. I am unsure of whether I absorb food properly - certainly, my stools do not look like it.
