Metabolic panel was normal

These were taken last month which was about a year off finesteride. Note that I was still smoking pot at the time but I have since completely quit and cut out almost all alcohol. I wish I had known about the Vit D deficiency earlier. I am now supplementing with 5000 - 10,000 UI a day and it will be retested in my next blood work. I will be getting another test soon to test T4, T3, Rev T3, Iron and Thyroid antibodies.

Currently I have some libido but erection quality varies. I sometimes get morning erections but they aren’t very good and I doubt I could have regular unaided sex at least with a condom.

So overall I am concerned with the free test/SHBG issue primarily. I am addressing the vitamin D deficiency
My biggest problem as of late has been a lowered body temperature (usually 97.5 - 97.8) and cold feet / legs. Hopefully the thyroid tests will shed some more light on that. My endo wanted to put me on stinging nettles for the SHBG and Vitamin D and that is all. I didn’t get the script for nettles because of a fear of lowering DHT. He thought my thyroid was fine but only tested TSH. I went to a chiropractor who also “specializes” in thyroid recently to obtain more tests. I am not necessarily going to listen to someone without a med degree but i knew they would order more thyroid tests so I can at least have more information.

Maybe something like Armour Thyroid could help me when I get those results and I would consider something like Danazol for the SHBG. I really want to get my body temp back to normal.

Current supplements: Fish oil 2x daily, 5000 - 10000 Vit D3, Multi
I want to add alpha lipoic acid, ginko biloba, and yellow maca

Cold hands a feet indicate likely thyroid problems. Your TSH looks good, so it’s almost certainly high reverse T3. You should also get a saliva cortisol test to check the state of your adrenals. You will need to know how healthy your adrenals are before you begin thyroid treatment with T3, otherwise you will react badly to it.

Indications of bad adrenals would be some sleep disturbances.

Hey buddy,

Get a silivary cortisol, blood cortisol , transcortin. - These will explain your body temp. Add Free t3 t4 and rt3 too,

Many will say estradiol should be around 20. Estradiol and free T seem to compete for androgen receptors. So I think the ratio of free T/Estrogen is very significant.

SHGB is increased by estrogens.

any reason for your blood glucose to be top of the range? Did you fast? Are you overweight?

How is your appetite?

Thanks for the reply

I have an endo appt on Thursday and I got the thyroid tests and 24hr 4x saliva cortisol so I will post those results and what my endo says.

I am a bit overweight so that glucose reading does worry me. I did fast for the test and my appetite is normal.

I am 5’11 and weigh about 200lbs but with some muscle. I have been lifting and added running in lately. I need to get down to 185 or so.

Will update about sides/general health when I get these next set of results.

Hmm I am 85 kilos 6’3 I am exercising now 2 times per day. Blood glucose remains high. I think this is because our cells are not sensitive to insulin as our hormone balance is out of wack. High blood glucose is bad for your body. You need to try and work out how to get this down.

Thyroid Tests:
T3 Free: 3.05 pg/ml (2.3-4.2)
T4 Free: 1.04 ng/dL (0.89 - 1.76)
TSH: 1.47 (0.34-4.00)
Rt3: 147 pg/ml (90-350)
Thyroglobulin Autoantibodies
< 20.0 IU/mL (<40)

No obvious major problems though the FT4 and FT3 levels could be higher.

Cortisol Tests: woke up at about 9am and went to bed at about 1
9:45 am: 13.7 (High) Range ( 3.7 – 9.5 ng/ml)
1:00pm: 2.3 (1.2-3.0)
8:00pm: 0.6 (0.6 – 1.9)
12:45 am: 0.2 (0.4 – 1.0)

Body Temps are ranging around 97 to 97.5 but I need to make a more detailed log.
So I over produce cortisol in the morning and then I am low at night. I tend to get fatigued in the late afternoon.
Endo was hesitant to do anything with the thyroid and recommended ashwagandha to balance the cortisol out more. I am confused as to what time of day to take it however.

I’m not sure what to do next but I do know I wish my temps hovered around 98 rather than 97.
I’ve been reading the cortisol management thread and the stop the thyroid madness site. This all seems pretty complicated but obviously my body temps / general cold feeling indicates something is amiss.
