Finasteride's effects on Cortisol?

Hi Mew

there are very few studies about propecia effect on Cortisol. It as also a very important part of the side effect (angry in the morning, brain frog, depression…).

Could you find any study about cortisol and 5-a-Reducatase inhibition ?

Thank you

Yes, there are very few studies. Dunno about it’s effect on cortisol directly, some studies say it DOESN’T, but that it has an effect on cortisol’s metabolites.

“It is not clear whether the prostate contributes substantially to A-ring reduction of cortisol, but, interestingly, finasteride, a relatively specific inhibitor of 5-reductase type 2, does alter the relative excretion of cortisol metabolites in men.”

i’m trying isocort and i feel better in terms of energy and sex erections.

I’ve tried licorice root to improve the amount of cortisol in the body and it does have an effect on energy.

Ive got that too, How many drops do you take and how often??

I’ve used pills which have had a marked effect in my energy. Never have used drops before.

As a rebuttal, the Merck insert states clearly that:

This statement underwent peer and FDA review.

Wasn’t sure where else to put this. Doesn’t directly answer the question-at-hand but it does discuss it in passing. I regret that I am not paid by Merck, because I wouldn’t have eaten cereal for dinner last night…
