Finasteride Strengthens the Immune System?

That might be true to some degree I didnt get any colds or flu while on it but overall I feel Finasteride does a lot of damage to the body.

Interesting find, although I’m sure most here would agree that the negatives “somewhat” outweigh that potential positive…

I was on it for 9 years and i got sick once. I actually felt like superman on it and had tons of energy on it. I like the findings of raised estradiol. This all fits snuggly into my theory as well. Lets pray something breaks soon.

Until proven otherwise i believe it is auto immune against 5ar2 or DHT. A strengthened (stronger than normal) immune system while taking finasteride and perhaps a pre existing vitamin d deficiency (1 user had prior to finasteride) would increase the chances of this.

This definitely makes the most sense to me and I think it’s really unfortunate that more professional investigation into this angle hasn’t been done.

I wondered if you had any thoughts about why some people seem to crash while on finasteride?

I got sick all the time on it but I have always been prone to colds. Have had lifelong sinus allergies which don’t help. But I will say it seemed to make me more susceptible to stress damaging my body. For example after a really stressful month at work I got mono. I was in my 30s, who gets mono that late in life? At one point I lost my job and was extremely stressed- that’s when the eye floaters arrived. Years later tinnitus started soon after a death in the family. I realize I could be just be fishing around here, but it seemed like more “serious” things happened to me when I was on fin, rather than just getting laid up for a few days.

Tim, can you tie this in to increased autoimmune response and your condition?
