Feeling Better after a week on Vitamin D

Last week I took my first megadose of vitamin D2 by prescription and am feeling better. My libido seems a little better and I also feel brighter, happier and more focused. I highly recommend all the guys here get their vitamin d levels checked- it could be a big piece of why we’re all feeling like crap.

What dosage if you don’t mind my asking? What is a megadose, in your opinion?

Alot of guys supplement but their d levels levels never budge. I’m at about 50,000 IU’s every three days. I was pretty shocked in January that my doctor noted I’ve shrunk almost two inches since being off Fin. I’ve had family telling to stand up straight and that I look like I’m hunching over. My low levels of vit d are the only thing that comes in mind to explain this. Maybe the entire super family of receptor genes has been effected?

For you autoimmune fans, there are know ties with autoimmune and low levels of vit d. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/17699936

I just took my second weekly dose of 50,000 IU. A megadose to me is anything 20-30 times the RDA of a given vitamin (most Vitamin D supplements are only 1000-2000 IU) that would provide benefit to someone with a deficiency but would cause a person with a normal vitamin d level to have overdose symptoms.

Yea man I was measured at the doctor and they said 5’7.5" and I’ve always been 5’8". Of course measuring myself on the door frame in a 90- year old house that has probably settled quite a bit might not be the best way to go about it. Still it does give me pause, and it makes me wonder if I’m starting to suffer osteoporosis(can’t know for sure, haven’t had my estrogens tested yet). How old are you, if you don’t mind me asking?. That kind of height loss in a young man is truly alarming. It may be linked to vit D but it could also be because your estrogen is low.
