Facial bone growth and DHT inhibition

I thought I was imagining it but I have felt my brow bone has grown in the last few years and that my face looks ‘different’. Well lookie here, did you know that DHT induces DKK1, and that inhibition of DKK1 (ie. DHT) gives free reign to the ‘wnt’ pathway, and greater expression of the wnt pathway results in bone formation?
Just give the above a google and you will see what i’m talking about.
So as a parting gift from Propecia, have you noticed you have a more prominent brow bone, forehead, cheekbones.
I do not have Body dysmorphic disorder so I should have never questioned my perception of my brow, in particular. THe evidence is there…

check JN’s thread, he had some strange bone growth in the head due to both growth hormone and DHT supplementation.

well, that can be a result of excessive HGh like in people who suffer Acromegaly.

Yea, my IGH-1 is high. Dr. Jacobs said I could get something like what your talking about. Honestly, it seems like my chin is more prominent since being off Finasteride. I think Im getting myself to Dr. Mariano soon. He seems to have the best grasp overall in getting most everything back in order for us.

I hope it’s something simple to stop like high GH/IGF-1, and not something complex like this genetic problem. I really wish things like this would balance out instead of becoming more of a problem.

Hopefully if we ever figure out the root cause of PFS the rest of this stuff will fall back into line.

Prominent cheeks? That means beauty :stuck_out_tongue: .

No it doesn’t. Some models are know for high cheekbones, however this isn’t what’s being discussed. Contribute something please, don’t bring down the conversation.

I noticed that my head is much bigger than about 2 years ago , well i also gain weight but it’s not that my face is just puffy it’s actually the skull which grew , I don’t know in how far this could be related to finasterid neither you do but I have a slight thyroid hypofunction and high blood pressure+zinc values. so my question is could it be related to my high zinc values I posted for about a year ago , I know that it’s more likely that this has to do with hgh but I’m quite confused . I also have a slight lack of iron but my ferritin level is ok . would you take Iron or copper to compensate the high zinc values?

PS: I know that this thread already exists but I can’t find it anymore

How old are you, and what are your IGF-1 and IGF-BP3 values?

I’m still 23 years old and I made my last widespread bloodtest for about 2 years ago , I think my values were Ok but I don’t how my status quo is. I think I’m more in the accepting phase after all those years. The doctors in germany are douchebags. I just met one who was concerned because he took this stuff too. well maybe I exeggerated it in the topic it just looks like It became bigger also my brother and a friend of mine noticed it after we made pictures because his head was bigger before i took finasteride.

this test was made two years ago so it’s useless. Igfbp3 was not tested

IgF-1: 240.0 ng/ml+ 0,0-0,0

last widespread test : viewtopic.php?f=4&t=3430

My head seems smaller and more feminine features. But my brow ridge is def bigger. Last time i checked IGF-1 (1-2 years post crash) its was wayyy over range.

my brow ridge is huge. caveman big…

My face is looking bony, and smaller. More like a skinny childs face. Not imagining it, i look like an aids patient. Ready for a cure before i cure this with a bullet.

someone tell me who is jn please

Did anyone abover seriously have bone growth? Could it be that your bones just became more prominent due to fat loss? Any response from someone with alledged bone growth would be helpful. Pictures would be helpful too (pm, if you dont want to post here). I need some hope, im suffering bone LOSS and look like a sick old child.
also, who is jn?

Yes, one of my first physical changes was brow bone looked much more prominent. My chin looks smaller. After most the collagen has fallen off my skin I’m starting to believe it was just loss of collagen all over. Cause it would seem weird for your brow to grow and your chin to shrink. Life is good.

well great for you…I know my chin jaw and cheekbones have shrunk… nothing has grown.

My whole skeleton was severely shrunk by fin and has been steadily growing back for 14 months now. I didn’t exactly make a habit of doing tactile inventories of my facial bone structure before this mess began, but when I feel my brow ridge, it seems like it’s possibly harder and more prominent than pre-fin. But pictures (before fin and from now) confirm that I’ve still got at least a little to go before my bones get back to normal size. I think my brow ridge just feels harder than usual because there’s less tissue/muscle buffering it than pre-fin, though some of that has definitely come back too.
