Hey I’m seeing an Endo next week to address post finastride syndrome, apparently his going to help me and look into my case because I have a good friend who runs the nurses at the hospital. Some of my blood work viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6704. My main issues at the moment is fluctuations in penile length either over sized or extremely tiny. Lack of blood flow feel like I’ve lost an inch both ways, mood swings, depression, testicle skin change, muscle loss, dry skin. Anyone know how to address endos so they understand my situation without making it look “psychological”
Should I mention I saw two urologists and they said I’m
Fine?
Propeciashiz, you’ve asked similar questions before: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6737
My response is the same:
Utilize the information, studies and media reports available to you that have been collected on this site for starters.
Print off articles from main Propeciahelp.com site, Merck label updates about persistent side effects, Dr. Irwig and Dr. Traish’s papers ( viewforum.php?f=8
You’ll need evidence to support your case, and these materials can help. Nobody can do the work for you, you need to print out the materials yourself to back up your case. Good luck.
Thanks Mew, Got a good feeling about this one. Helps when you have insiders in the hospital!
Your gonna end up being the boy who cried wolf soon!
Apologies. I’ve got a good chance with this doctor just wanna make sure I don’t come across as a “psychological case” like the uriolgists think. My friend is a boss there understand my situation so really have my fingers crossed. Cheers pecker
Well when you say good chance… Gotta be realistic in the sense that even if he believes you have PFS doesn’t mean he can do anything about it. Hell I been all over the country talking to docs about this and besides sucking up a ton of money they really haven’t done awhole lot to help me.
This is true. Australia has some of the best doctors in the world who knows?! Anything could happen theres a dozen theories out there. I’m sure 2 tablets cannot fuck someone for life. Even you pecker have had improvements and I want to learn from the things you’ve tried.I ain’t stopping till I’m better
Yeah I had some pretty good improvements from where I was. Still not normal thou… hard to explain what normal is anymore but I’ll probably be able to “feel” it mentally when everything clicks inside my body.
I mean I can tell mentally i’ve come along way I don’t know if it’s just from getting used to it or not. I think the hardest thing is not knowing if you’ll go back to normal. I mean as far as you saying down stairs went back to normal gives me a bit of hope.
Shrinkage is the scariest part.
Did you happen to get dry skin on the face? I’ve noticed my skin has gone really dry and like red marks on my face. Really weird.
Well, downstairs isn’t completely back to normal for me… it looks almost back to normal thou as I don’t have the shrinkage… when I take a minipress. But there’s many of the other issues to some degree.
Dry skin? No not really. I know 1 or 2 guys who did get and still have that side effect thou.
I think it might be caused by low testoterone? all though i’m not a doctor so i’m not sure. Really can’t wait to get to the bottom of this not a fan of self diagnosis but symptoms all relate to adrenal fatigue and hypogonadism. I was stressed out as hell before i took these tablets wonder if it has anything to do with it. Who know’s. What i’d like to know is the fluctuations in penis size and testicles. Wtf.
Well finasteride reduces 3adiolg in many of us… And I read a study saying that 3adiolg levels correlate positively with sebacous gland output. Aka skin oil.
I can tell you for sure that I have very little acne breakouts compared to before propecia. Only positive side to this it seems. Not much of one thou.
I’ve never really had big breakouts. They don’t do 3adiol blood tests in Australia unfortunately well at our national patholgy centre anyway. Hey pecker may I ask what discussions you had with our endos or did they just disregard your case?
A bunch of discussions… What do you want to know specifically? Jacobs is the only one I really had good discussions with, the others either disregarded me, or one guy just frankly said it was way above his knowledge in endocrinology… he didn’t charge me for the visit thou. One in Houston I went to just walked out of the room… She was a big help… Had the nerve to charge me for the visit too.
Okay so how do I address the situation without self diagnosing myself? because alot of the time they will assume it’s a mental thing if your presenting them with Post Finasteride Syndrome and paper work discussing the actions of DHT inhibition etc. I want to be polite about the situation and them to understand i’m going through some serious shit. Be really helpful if i learn from the things you said etc.
I think it’s really important we all help eachother out. Who know’s anything can friggin happen.
Merck made labeling changes to the drug insert regarding persistent erectile dysfunction, depression etc. Use that to your advantage. Sames goes for all the media reports on propeciahelp.com homepage, use those. This should be quite obvious.
Hey all endo was great!!! Is researching into the side effects and getting his university team to do studies I’ll keep you guys posted
Ok so I’m part taking in the first Australian study into post finasteride syndrome. Keep you posted commences August 8.
