Selected material:

“… the incidence of adverse events related to sexual dysfunction were significantly higher in the finasteride group than in the placebo group (ejaculation disorder 7.7% v. 1.7% and impotence 15.8% v. 6.3%; p < 0.01 for both parameters).”

“… Regardless of the treatment group, the symptoms of sexual dysfunction tended to be of long duration and to arise earlier rather than later in the study period.”

Am I reading this right. Isn’t this a lot more than 2% and an acknowledgement that side effects last a lot longer than the literature. Is this related to the above study. Another “leak.” And what does long duration and sooner rather than later mean. However this study is for proscar.

Wait! If the incidence of impotence is 15.8% on 5mg of finasteride and is 2% on 1 mg of Fin then wouldn’t it stand to reason that the %'s of ED would go down even further on lower doseages of fin such as 1/2 or 1/4 mg. I’m going to change my name from grail to deadhorse because I like to beat a dead horse so much but isn’t anyone else out there outraged by the study in “this is big” in general.

I do realize that the people taking 5mg of fin are older and more likely to get impotence as a side effect from fin but not at these %'s and they must have been fine to start or they wouldn't included it as a side effect.
